Here's a link to an ongoing request for NICU quilts from a board member

quilts are great, but she will accept just the tops.

My guild has a community service section. We make quilts for kids that get admitted to local hospitals. So that is where I put my energy - when I have some. lol

I finished 4 more fleece blankets from my stash=15 yards. I'm so excited because today I am going with my friend Rhoda and some of her friends to 'For the Love of Peyton' fleece blanket tying party and I will deliver 9 that used 3 yards each and 11 that used 4 yards each so 71 yards plus 17 yards used in 5 blankets that were already donated so 88 yards gone! Wahoo! We will fringe and tie more when we get there from other people's donations.
Although I am sad that Hancock Fabrics went out of business, the clearance prices allowed me to contribute more blankets this year.

Connie, that's quite a feat! and for such a good cause.
I've been quilting, so I'm using fabric for backing. Only about 6 yards (wide backing), however.

That is quite a haul, Connie. Nicely done.
I pulled out fat quarters for a new project over the week. I saw it in a magazine and just fell in love. Still not 100% decided on one of the 5 colors but a total of 25 FQs are required and they will all come from stash. Plus I will get to use up some scrap pieces so with border I am looking at 8 yards.

Anngleanne, Nice quilt using stripes, It very pretty.
Mad quilter, Good job in picking out fabric from your stash for your next project. We want pics as you go along.
This weekend I'm working on the Virture Quilt along on this board. I finished 1 block for the quilting Bee. I only have 3 more to go to be caught up. The I finished a very small UFO tie quilt. Unsure what I will do with it. I don't care for it enough to keep it. So someone will get it. Now to find another UFO to work on. Happy sewing and quilting everyone, and remember my motto this year, "Stash shop 1st, and 2nd and 3rd."

Good job, Connie!!
I might have been bad today... maybe.
Foust Textiles sale was yesterday and today, and I went with one of my regular customers. She had never been before, and was just overwhelmed at all the fabrics and the awesome prices. She bought some fabrics to make quilts for two little girls.
I bought two bolts of wide backing fabric, 15 yards/bolt, less than $5/yard. So, was I bad... well, maybe a little. But, I think backing is an "allowed" purchase. I resisted the siren-call of the deep purple and a dark blue, and bought neutrals - those will go with almost ANY customer quilt. The blue and purple probably would have ended up as more stash.
However, my friend needed a little white (but not a whole bolt's worth!) and some almost-royal-blue... so she shopped my stash. That's a total of about 6 yards going out for me. So, in that case, I was good.
It was a good time of friendship and fellowship - almost 4 hours together, petting fabric and talking quilting.

Good job, Connie!
Martina- good on you for picking stash fabrics for your next quilt!
Leta- you showed admirable restraint, buying only backings that would work with multiple customer quilts-- not to mention ending your fun fabric petting and quilt talking day by sending your friend home with fabric from your stash!

Have been reading these posts and decided it is time to join. I won't live long enough to use up my stash and promised my kids I won't leave behind a mess for them to clean up! So I will not be buying any more fabric than absolutely necessary for 2017 and will piece backs as necessary. Encouraged by all your comments and actually think I can do this.
