I've planned to buy fabric today! Yeh! A treat. I want to buy fabric and I'm going to treat myself. Last night I perused my stash for a new project. Collected fabrics and thought of designs. Now ready to get backing for 1 project and 1 matching fabric for a stack, it nees a torquise.

I did it I bought 6 yards of CoC fabric last week and I sent it back today! Yepper I sent it back. That was a first for me. I decided I didn't need it after all. Besides it did not 'feel' right to my touch. I have never sent back a piece of fabric no matter how bad the quality or ugly it was. Much less a pieces as versatile as a CoC fabric is. I was sad but proud of myself. I did not succumb to my desire to buy more fabric. I hope to do better next time around and not buy at all.

Good for you, Julia. I'd like to not buy online fabric unless I am familiar with the manufacturer, but sometimes it's hard.

I fell off the wagon and ordered that jelly roll that was calling my name. I don't feel bad as it will be cut as soon as it arrives and the quilt will use a lot of my black/white stash. I'm pleased I didn't order it until I had a use for it.

I am continuing with my compulsive prepping of planned projects. I finished with the stash quilt prepping and have moved on to the FQ bundle quilt prepping, most of which are also augmented by stash fabrics. I had a design failure with the latest one, or rather, a pattern choice failure. I used the 'Field Greens' pattern, undeterred by the fact that it requires strong value contrast. I have both light and med/dark fabrics in the background, and my medium pinwheel color doesn't really stand out well on either, LOL. It will still be pretty, but not quite what the pattern intended.

Irishrose, You aren't off the wagon rather you are applying the truer purpose of our moratorium. We want to use what we have and buy only what we have an immediate use for. This will keep us from building up stores of excess fabric. Good for you!

MSUTeach, I agree. One jelly roll will use up a lot of b/w and I'm sure I can build a back from stash, too. It's a win-win. By waiting, I found it at a better price, too. It was very pricy most places. Just need to get the red/white/black quilt finished before the pretty ombre JR arrives.

Another day of sorting fabrics and cleaning up ahead of me today, but some days it actually feels good and is what I want to do.

LOL, not so sure if today is one of the good days or not but I'll least make a start by making a new box for "small collections". I have some loose groups of things I decided belonged with each other, and need to go through the existing box as well, think I've used up enough that even with some new groups it will all fit in one box. Then I have to think of the likelihood of things like am I ever really going to use a lot of dog fabrics in a quilt again and maybe it's time to pass the collection to a quilter that will.

I have some things to do and get done before Thanksgiving and hoping to do the Bonnie Hunter Mystery again this year. If I start now I just might make it

Default Jelly Roll From Stash

My latest finish. The fabric for this quilt is all from stash including the batting and back. I used the MSQ Jelly Roll Race #3 pattern but cut 2.5 strips from my stash. I would do this one again. I am not a big Jelly Roll Race fan but those little triangles gave it a different appearance scattered over the quilt. Used up about 7 yards of stash and I call that good. This quilt will go to Project Linus later this month along with a baby quilt and another to be determined.

Rejoice in your cleaning and sorting, Ice Blossom. Boy it feels so good to be free of what you won't use, what you forgot your had and to organize what you have on hand when you need it. I learned by experience!

Iceblossom: I hope you made great progress today.

WMUTeach: Very nice! I will need to check out that pattern.
