And here’s what I have for July. Conchelea says she will have a final count today or tomorrow so that will surely Increase the number. 127 year to date and 14 and counting in July. Whoo, whoo!
Isn’t it great when the nieces and neffers say “That’s mine”. It warms your ❤️.
Wonderful rescue. I just found a bubble gum pink top and backing. I wonder if it is possible to tie and bind it by midnight?
Both of these are great! ✌🏼
way to go, everyone. As always, PM me with corrections.
I found this UFO top in a box tucked away in my sewing room last week. After some serious pressing, it was a wrinkled mess, I found it did not need to be made any bigger. Added a back and pieced batting, quilted on Saturday or was it Sunday? I found the binding in my box of binding scraps. Same fabric as the back! Ta-Da saving scraps pays off. This will be a Project Linus donation. Leaving my home along with three others later this week!
This is my July contribution to our UFO project. Don't think I can get another done by Saturday. But have one started.

Mets quilt - 50x70. Fleece backing.
Actually my SILs UFO/ never started. I started quilting in 2018 and was having so much fun that my SIL said "ok - I'll try it. I want to make a Mets quilt for my father in law" and we worked together on a design - figured out the fabric and bought it....
....And then she.moved to Florida before ever starting the.project. I took the fabric.
And then my particular version of COVID anxiety took over and I decided to just make the darned thing....and here we are.
FYI - Newby quilters and lurkers. This was a nice simple quilt to piece and finish. I hope you can see the quilting pattern. Super easy and fast. Yes you can do it!

Finished!
45x60 pattern from Fabric Cafe 3 yard quilts called "sew fast" . assistance from a YouTube by Sew Very Easy.
it came out very "spotted" which is why I chose straight line quilting to try and control it...still not sure I succeeded. Fabric is from Robert Kaufman and has all these milk bottle caps. So I'm calling it "The Spotted Cow" quilt.
note- pattern calls for 3 yards of backing but I did fine w 2 yards, leftover Fabric B and 2 strips.

I have our July total of UFOs completed or out of the house:
1. RWB log cabin baby quilt I started during the early Pandemic days while staying with my daughter
2. A top was given to K's friend when she admired it (be careful about admiring something-it may be yours in the UFO condition)
3. Green & beige quilt with beige back
4. Deconstructed/reconstructed yellow, black, & gray quilt, flannel back
5. Purple birds with a pieced white & purple back
6. Blue & white with flannel back
7.Blue & beige. We named this one Izzy, because we kept saying, "It is what it is" due to Issues of curvy, wavy areas
8. Blue, beige, & white with navy flannel back
9. A small top of squares, forest green, beige, & terra cotta K made into a cushion cover for her patio bench
10. Fall colors log cabin. We call it "But, Hey!" again because we kept saying that as we found ways around issues it had
11. & 12. What we're calling Orange Sherbet with another quilt as the back. Bright, cheerful orange, which I did lots of FMQ on
So, our grand total=12! Plus we made from scratch a baby quilt & diaper bag in 2 days. That was a rushed effort. It was NOT a UFO, so it doesn't count in our total. I also cut, pieced, & sewed the Butterfly top and we sandwiched it. I just have to find time to quilt it! We had about 5 days where we didn't sew at all, but the other 26 were full steam ahead. Of the 22 or so we found originally, and now the 3 new ones her daughter mailed her, we've completed 14 in June & July.

I finished 3 UFO tops this month using many pieced blocks which were in various donations to my church group. The rest were my leftover blocks. They have been added to a box for finishing when we meet again. They are 70” by 80” approximately.
I will PM KrisB.

Happy Saturday morning to everyone, Conchalea so proud of the hard work that you and K had put in those UFOs. Let K know that we are praying for a speedy recovery of that fever. You take the day off and kick your feet up and play with the cat.
Everyone that had finishes this month, congratulations
Stay safe
