That is so funny wildyard. I went to doc yesterday and am out of the walking boot, but there is still an issue with the fore front of my foot. She thinks I have a stress fracture so I am scheduled for an MRI. The "tendonitis" is quiet at this time, but wow, a sore forefoot is not fun. No more long hours at the longarm for some time. I have to get some quilts finished. Now to be inventive on how to quilt.
No UFOs done quite yet. I am hoping to get some done this month. Hope is a good thing to have. Rob, that is neat. Love the artistic look of the convergence. |
Very convergency looking, Rob. I made one and also found that you REALLy need to pay attention. However, once you mis-cut, it really blends into the overall design. Well done. Your work always shows me what a traditionalist I am at heart.
Glad your foot is doing better, QM. Now we just need to keep Fred and Arthur in check. |
Great save, Rob! I wouldn't have guessed it was a mangle if you hadn't said.

I love both the contemporary quilt and the convergence one. I'd never heard of the latter so will have to look it up. I have three more finishes. These were quilted a few months ago but I never finished the binding. I'm so glad to have them done. This makes 10 finishes this month, but since I do the back to front binding on my charity quilts, they didn't take overly long. I'll take these and three others to the church on Sunday for them to be given out to shut-ins or hospital patients.

Oh Belfrybat, I love your finishes, especially that batik! Makes me wish I was on your church's list! LOL
|
Belfrybat...great finishes. Is the second one a D9P pattern? Lovely colors.
|
They’re all beautiful Belfybat—I love the bright glowy colors in the first one!
Rob |
Belfrybat: Way to go! Will you please send some sewing energy my way? :). Beautiful quilts!
I really like your dark sashing and bright cornerstones on that 3rd quilt. I never remember to use cornerstones with sashing. I think it is the attitude "I just want this done!" so I just sash or sew the blocks directly together. Lol! Connie |
Belfrybat those are sure to brighten the day of three lucky people. Sew inspiring when one sees such nice projects completed...
|
Cool finishes guys. I really like convergence quilts. I have made a couple of blocks that I did w/ the convergence technique, and a wall hanging. My recent finish isn't really a UFO, more like a WIP. I was suppose to start on my Underground railroad UFO after my finish wip, but did I .................. NO, did I start a new project ............................... why yes I did!!!! But on the good side, looks like I'm not the only one rowing that boat!
|
Enjoy that cute kitty!

Another UFO finished!

Here's a picture of my red/cream Half-Log Cabin quilt. This was my July UFO for the American Patchwork & Quilting UFO Challenge - better late than never.:-)
|
Janice....yes, the Half-Log Cabin in browns is a finished UFO.
|
Another nice lap quilt, Glojean!
|
Glojean...Beautiful quilt! Beautiful kitty!
Congrats on finishing your quilt. |
Belfrybat, congrats on the finishes, they look nice.
Glojean48, love that red & cream half log cabin. |
Love those colors and the way you quilted your half log cabin, Glojean48!
Rob |
GloJean -- your quilt is fabulous. I looked up the pattern and downloaded it. I wonder how long it would take me if I made one pattern a week for the rest of my life? 20 years? 30?
|
Thank you for the nice comments Oksewglad, Anne 2016, Sync, rider and Belfrybat.:-)
|
Belfrybat....I'm glad you were able to download the pattern. Once you get started on it you'll love the process. I keep saying I need to live to at least 150 to finish all the projects that are in my head (and on my lists).:-)

I have a finish for October! I purchased this kit about six years ago. My DH must like the quilt because he had me put it on our bed right away last night! Didn't have a real good place to put the quilt for a picture.

Sophie...that's a gorgeous quilt. Great colors, pattern and fabrics..

Sophie -- what a wonderful quilt! There are times I wish I had more patience for making detailed quilts, but I realized except for my annual foray into Bonnie Hunter land, I'm more of a big and bold person. Plus most of my quilts end up in nursing homes where they are not well taken care of.
|
"where they are not well taken care of" and yet you have some really nice quilts that the nursing home residents can appreciate.
Sophie, that's a lovely quilt...nice HST's to set off the larger one. |

Thank you. Yes it is a d9p. It's Toulouse geese and I was tempted to keep it. I love geese. Here's a closeup of the fabric:

This is beautiful, Glojean. Congratulations on your lovely red/cream UFO finish and your brown half log cabin from earlier this month in post 1719. A double Toot, Toot for you!

We're close to the end of the month. Is anyone pushing for another UFO finish for October?
|
I had one ufo finished for this month...a baby quilt.... but I forgot the pic and now it is sold. Never liked the quilt, thus it became a UFo but I plowed ahead and got 'er done. I am so surprised that it sold so quickly.
Another one is likely to be finished before the end of the month. Just have the binding to do. |
Janice....I would like to thank you for helping me achieve my goal. I only have 3 UFOs left to do and will probably start on them early in November. Two are small tops that need to be quilted and bound. The other will wait until January. It is a top that I am going to use to practice FMQ. I want to wait until after Xmas as this time of year brings enough stress. In January I will be more relaxed and more inclined to practice each day.
You have kept us all on track, crunching the numbers, commenting on our work and generally keeping things moving along. I appreciate all you've done. Without the suggestions/comments from you and from all the others here, I would not have achieved so much. I feel so free, having reached my goal. Soon, I can start piecing new tops which is the part I like best. |
Anne, we'll take your word for it! :). Congratulations and Toot, Toot for your UFO finish.

Anne, you are most welcome but YOU did all the hard work. Pat yourself on the back for many jobs well done. :)

I’m working on a ufo. It just needs 2 blocks quilted. I’ll post pic when done.
Lovely finished quilts Sophie2 and belfry. Congrates on your finishes. |
Thank you, Janice.:-)

Another UFO bites the dust. This one should have been finished a long time ago but as usual I got sidetracked doing other projects. My circles aren't the best but better finished than perfect. I am trying to sell it but if it doesn't sell after a month, I will donate it to a charity.
