Glojean -- love your colour scheme on the Christmas tablerunner.

With the UFOs I finished plus four other small projects this month, my stash is reduced 11 yards for a total of 66 so far this year. I'm actually beginning to see a difference -- room has opened up on two shelves which I will not fill up again with fabric! No I won't!

More power to you on keeping your shelves empty! I hope I am strong enough when my time comes to have empty shelves... if it ever does, LOL.

GloJean, Love the quilting in the white squares. I also like your colors.

What cute items those are, Sophie2! What are the little cups for?

If you are referring to the items in the left of the picture, they are call "Button Boats". The buttons hold the sides together so they become little baskets. You undo the strings around the buttons and they lay flat for storage or mailing. The brown item on the right holds the snowman coasters and the top of the round holder has a snowman on it. That was a nice "travel" project.

Good afternoon! We've slowed a bit but we kept on chugging along with our 25 UFO finishes for the month of June. That's almost one per day so not bad, train riders, not bad at all! :) Thanks and Toot, Toots go out to Cherrybsixty, Allspots, Belfrybat, Barbm, Anne2016, Jaba, Quiltermomma, Rryder, Sophie2, and DebJ for their fine UFO finishes that bring the year's total up to 158! Congratulations one and all!

Janice McC 07-05-2017 12:49 PM

And here's Glojean48's first UFO finish for July, a Beautiful table runner. Congratulations and Toot, Toot!

Way to go crew..keep up the great work.

For me summer puts sewing on hold...just got done mowing the lawn--5 hour job--now need to find my garden after being gone over a week..company coming this weekend too...and working Friday and Saturday...

retiredteacher09 07-05-2017 06:33 PM

Great finishes, everyone.

I finally finished my second top using mainly donated orphan blocks. I can't remember if we include these as UFO finishes because who knows how long the orphan blocks were sitting in someone's stash before being donated. Lol!

So....Janice McC: What to you think? UFO or not UFO?

Connie

Just finished quilting this wallhanging - still may put buttons in various places on the trellis.

I like those Glojean! Hope your machine gets well soon. I'm having problems with mine as well. Fixed one problem (new foot pedal) but another problem has started showing up grrrrrrrr...

anne2016 07-08-2017 04:43 AM

Glojean....great finishes.

The sewing machine problems must be something going around. I am having trouble with mine also...skipped stitches. I will have to take it in but the repair guy doesn't come back from vacation until late July. I was so hoping I could fix it as I wanted to finish quilting a UFO. Got about half done.

Janice McC 07-09-2017 05:25 AM

Good morning, RetiredTeacher09. I'd say if it's been sitting around a while, it's a UFO. It's you who decides if it's a UFO or not. Let me know whether to add it into the tally for July. Thanks! :)

Is that decorative quilting on the trellis? I like it! Congratulations and Toot, Toot for your second UFO finish this month.

Finished another UFO that's been hanging. It was pieced but needed to be quilted and bound. I also got this little wall hanging done so it could hang in my sewing room.

Congrats on the finish, jaba. The little wall hanging made me smile.

Congratulations.

jaba 07-11-2017 06:36 PM

It kind of looks like that but no I didn't. This has been hanging in the closet waiting to be quilted for over a year. I printed off a picture from Pinterest that was attached to it so I'm sure that's what I went by. Just wanted to use up some of those B-Day candies from the swap. The little wall hanging was a square that I got from Traveling Grandma that she included with her 2 1/2" squares that she sent for my birthday. Finally got it quilted a bit and finished.

rryder 07-12-2017 05:03 AM

Great way to use those candies, Jaba! What the panel says!!!

Rob

Janice McC 07-12-2017 07:50 AM

Congratulations and Toot, Toot on your UFO Candy Quilt. I like the dark background fabric! Beautiful. Your little wall hanging is adorable and, I suspect, right on point! Thanks for sharing the pix.

Right on point for sure Janice.....way too many in this house. I can't seem to quit making them so as long as I have some sources to give them away and donate I'm good with that. At least I know for sure they are used and appreciated. I've gotten 8 thanks you's this week from cancer patients that I don't even know, makes it all worthwhile.

retiredteacher09 07-12-2017 05:13 PM

Janice McC: Here is my orphan block UFO top for July. I helped sandwich and tie it with my quilting group on Tuesday and now it will get the binding sewn down on the front (brought from the back) by our quilting group hostess.

All but 4 blocks and the tumblers were found in donated fabric. It will be given to Salvation Army.

Whoa, it has been a little quiet here. Unfortunately, I don't have any more UFO finishes to report but who knows what might get done in the next month or so ....... Hubby retired in January and we're still trying to adjust to that change of life. Now if I can figure out how to keep him busy in his "office", I might be able to get more done in my sewing/dining room.

wildyard 07-19-2017 12:08 PM

The quilt I am working on is a UFO, so I will have a finish by Monday, I hope. I just finished the top today and have to make the back and bind it still. It's a Baby's First Year quilt, my first time to try something like this, and has given me a fair share of issues. But the top is done so it should be smooth sailing from here.

The "baby" of this quilt is going on 2.5 years so I've had the beginning of the quilt done since he was just past 1.

I finished a donated UFO. One row was completely finished along with 3 partial rows and all of the blocks although I needed to make a few blocks to finish the pattern. I matched them the best I could from my stash. There are many more blocks but I will do a different pattern with them.

retiredteacher09...congrats on the finishes. One of my favorite things to do is to finish donated UFOs.

Connie- Great finishes, Fantastic way to use orphan blocks!

Janice McC 07-22-2017 09:03 AM

Mighty quiet around here this month! My goodness, I'm the last one who should say anything since I've not put a stitch in my UFOs in at least a month. :(. Well, if we aren't doing much UFO work, I just hope we're all enjoying our summer. School starts up here in just a couple of weeks, the beginning of August. I can hardly believe it but then my days of living by the school calendar are over.

Enjoy your weekend!

Well, I have a non-quilt UFO finish to post. I wanted to be working on my quilt, but health issues are keeping me from it so I'm here online instead. :( I actually thought I had already posted this finish but searched and can't find it. It's a wall hanging I made for my granddaughter from her collection of karate belts she earned before moving her attention and focus to dancing. I wove them into a badge-shaped wall hanging and I'm very pleased with it.
