I have a question if you are doing UFO for someone else can we count as one we did for are month? I'm helping a friend with a lot of her UFO she not able to sew much any more. So I'm not getting much of mine done. I did get a small wall hanging done embroidery. I need to make file smaller don't know how, can some one help me. Took picture with my phone. I gave it to a friend for Birthday so I can't take another picture.

anne2016 04-29-2017 05:14 PM

Krista, you're on a roll. Beautiful quilts!

Janice McC 04-29-2017 07:28 PM

Hi JuanitaBean. Email the picture to me and I'll post it for you. No problem at all. [email protected].

Hmmm, good question about whether you should count those that you are helping your friend with. While they aren't yours, they are UFO finishes due to YOUR work. I think you should count them. Anybody else want to comment?

IMO a finished UFO is a finished UFO, whether yours or someone else's

Will do that this weekend and post. Think I need a larger house in Florida so I can set up another long arm machine and setup:)

Welcome back, Jaba!

I love the blue and yellow, Janice. Looks like Cyrano does too. He's one lucky kitty

rryder 04-30-2017 02:38 AM

Beautiful finishes, Krista! The scrappy binding on the first is a nice touch and I love the colors on "Stepping Stones".

I have inherited some quilt tops from my mom. I will count those as UFO finishes if/when I get them done.

Janice McC 04-30-2017 05:51 AM

Totally agree! :)

Last day of April! Any last minute finishes? I'll give you all a few days to show us then I'll post April's tally next week.

zozee 04-30-2017 02:44 PM

I don't have any, but am ready to launch into one for May.

Will you all vote on which one I should do, simply by saying "Basket" or "Monkey" ? Majority by this time tomorrow wins.

I'm happy to share a photo of my non-UFO finish, it's definitely scrappy in that all the yellow color-family blocks are from a bunch of leftovers from charm packs that were gifted to me, plus some from my scrap bins to finish out the quilt. The reds are from my scrap bins and the "farm" blocks are from a Fat Quarter pack I got at a huge discount at Tuesday Morning. I just cut the FQs into 5" charms. The pattern is D9P. I used leftovers of all for the borders and bindings. The red border and binding was from my stash, a remnant I got for half off it's sale price!

Good morning! I'm doing UFO housekeeping this morning. I've got a few finishes to log in for April and I want to show you my next UFO. These are some Boom 14 swap blocks from a couple of years back. Two more to make and then I'll QAYG for a lap quilt. Posting a pic may force some accountability and keep me moving forward.

Janice those blocks will make a pretty lap quilt.
Great finishes Juanita. Love that machine too.
wildyard your D9P is so cheerful.
zozee my vote is monkey.

rryder 05-01-2017 03:57 AM

Linda- nice! Any stash used is a good thingLOL

Jaunitabean- glad we got to see pics-- that sewing machine is cool!

Zozee- I vote basket

Janice- good job on self motivating- I'm looking forward to seeing it done.

For May I have two UFOs to choose from, One is large-- could be king or queen size and will give me lots of places to play with FMQ. The other is a smaller art quilt that I have been dithering about-- I've put it on my design wall for the last three months thinking it was the UFO I'd finish for that month, but inspiration just hasn't struck.... what to do...

Rob:sew:

Silly me, I finished this UFO with orphan blocks from two different projects. Then, I was in such a frenzy to get it out the door, did not take a photo of the completed quilt. I made it for niece and nephew baby shower that is this coming Saturday. Big oops, because I thought it turned out cute. I used the pink solid for the sashing of the five fan blocks so they would end up measuring 13" then did a small sash around the outer of them, then did a green bubble print for the outer border and put minkee on the back. I quilted baby bottles, binkies, and safety pins on back. Folded over the minkee for the binding and then did a cute little flower stitch to tack it down. So sorry I did not get finished picture, but was an April finish. I then embroidered baby booties and three baby bibs to match the quilt. I used the scraps of minkee for the appliques on the bibs. All wrapped up and out the door. I did not even photo those bibs or booties. Big bummer. Then the card was even handmade. Themed my gifts. Hope they enjoy.

JuanitaBean 05-01-2017 10:17 AM

Machine is Applique/Embroidery not a old UFO
Thanks for nice comments

zozee 05-01-2017 11:01 AM

QuilterMomma, so sorry you didn't get photos of everything you made. Can't tell you how many times I've barely made five minutes for pictures, so the lighting has been crappy or there's no one to hold it or something! Your colors go so sweetly together, I wouldn't guess they were orphan blocks.

Janice, your blocks look good! A combo of homey and sophisticated.

As for the voting, ya'll know how to Split it!

anne2016 05-01-2017 12:35 PM

QMomma....congrats on the finish. The orphan blocks look great together. Really like the addition of the 16-patch scrappy locks.

JuanitaBean 05-01-2017 12:46 PM

QuilterMomma Like your block . I know your Quilt had to be pretty like all your quilt.

zozee 05-01-2017 05:36 PM

The voting is tied. Who wants to break the tie? If you haven't voted yet, and would like to say which UFO I should work on this month, please say either "basket" or "monkey."

Sophie2 05-01-2017 05:51 PM

I will vote for Monkey.

jaba 05-01-2017 05:58 PM

I vote for basket

zozee 05-01-2017 06:26 PM

Monkey breaks the tie! Thanks, everyone. :)
