Yeah monkey!! I just saw this in my email and... I would have voted monkey.

Great finished ladies! I'm pulling out a 3 yr old Bonnie Hunter mystery to finish in May.....or June. :D

joe'smom 05-02-2017 06:25 AM

That's so pretty, QuilterMomma! It makes me want to go buy some reproduction prints, which I don't currently have in my stash.

About a year and a half ago we made a trip to South Dakota and stopped at Sturgis. There is a very nice quilt shop in Sturgis and of course we had to stop. We did not have a motorcycle at the time, but I bought fat quarters for placemats. Since we had no motorcycle, I was in no hurry to make the placemats, hence another UFO kit. Well, we are now proud owners of a Harley and I felt the need to make the placemats and napkins. The pattern is Take Four (four fat quarters make the placemats) Now on to my next UFO. Great story Sophie2. Love them. I need to get busy and make some myself. Yeah, on that bucket list they are. Thank you everyone on the compliments and forgiveness of me not taking any photos. I will be sure and tell my MIL or SIL to get some for me since I did not take them. They were so cute. I even made a spare bib (yeah I bought more bibs to make them to have on hand) to show at guild last night and got sick so could not go. Next month for sure. hopefully I will have some more projects finished by then.
Can we count the towels that have been sitting there for nearly two years to be quilted as a UFO? I want to embroidery on them, just have not gotten there and need some new towels in my bathroom. Me and my big expectations.

Sync 05-02-2017 04:42 PM

Sophie2, nice placemats & napkins .......... lol, nothing like a Harley to get you motivated.

anne2016 05-03-2017 02:17 AM

Sophie2, I like the placemats and napkins. Great fabric. Congrats on the finish.

rryder 05-03-2017 06:17 AM

Sophie2- nice placemats and napkins and have fun with the new motorcycle!

Quiltermomma- seems to me the towels Are a UFO since they've been sitting around and are bothering you LOL!

I have some panels that came in a fat quarter pack which was used loooooong ago. I've never known what to do with them so they've been sitting in a drawer out of sight out of mind for at least 6 years. I am proud to say that they have now been designated UFOs. :D I won't get to them any time soon since I still don't know what to do with them, but at least they will be on the UFO pile instead of hidden away in a drawer not to be seen (or thought about) for another 6 years. Meanwhile, still trying to decide which of 2 UFOs to finish for May...

Silly me, I finished this UFO with orphan blocks from two different projects. Then, I was in such a frenzy to get it out the door, did not take a photo of the completed quilt. I made it for niece and nephew baby shower that is this coming Saturday. Big oops, because I thought it turned out cute. I used the pink solid for the sashing of the five fan blocks so they would end up measuring 13" then did a small sash around the outer of them, then did a green bubble print for the outer border and put minkee on the back. I quilted baby bottles, binkies, and safety pins on back. Folded over the minkee for the binding and then did a cute little flower stitch to tack it down. So sorry I did not get finished picture, but was an April finish. I then embroidered baby booties and three baby bibs to match the quilt. I used the scraps of minkee for the appliques on the bibs. All wrapped up and out the door. I did not even photo those bibs or booties. Big bummer. Then the card was even handmade. Themed my gifts. Hope they enjoy.

Janice McC 05-03-2017 06:55 AM

Got it, thank you!

OK, Finally caught up, I HOPE! Many thanks to the following passengers for their UFO finishes for the month of April: QuilterMomma, Juanita Bean, Sync, Anne 2016, Sophie2, Twinkie, SheriR, Rryder, CarolynPaj, Janice McC, All2pieces, Kristakz, and Wildyard for their combined 28 UFO finishes! Almost one a day. Toot, Toot! That brings us to a total of 102 finishes for 2016. Way to go everyone! We broke one hundred!

QuilterMomma 05-03-2017 08:12 AM

That means we are one third of the way to hit 300 for the year. I will try my best to help with that. Oh, I will get a picture of another UFO done, I finished up the sheets for daughter that had been sitting there for several months. I wanted them done in November, and just got to them. She is excited especially since she is moving out this month. That is depressing.
Goal for May will be eight UFO finishes for sure. I just cut up the setting blocks this morning and will get them done tonight hopefully and get it sewn together tomorrow. That is the plan at least. Have to get to quilting them.

Grinch 05-04-2017 05:40 AM

Beautiful, Sophie2! I love the story behind the placemats!!

Bug Lady 05-05-2017 06:54 AM

Since daughter is an orange color person and she loves the Denver Broncos, I made the lilies in blue for her. She loved it. Did two pillowcases and her flat sheet.

rryder 05-06-2017 03:28 AM

Nice finish QM!

anne2016 05-06-2017 03:32 AM

QMomma, a lovely finish!

rryder 05-07-2017 05:44 AM

since I couldn't decide between 2 UFOs for this month I decided to go through the pile and pick something else. While going through my UFO pile I found a quilt I started a year or maybe two ago. I was using 2"x2" scraps and fabric from stash to piece a sort of Jacob's laddery thing. Anyway, I had two large blocks completed and a bunch of small 4 patches pieced, but had quit working on it when it outgrew the tiny design wall I had at the time. So yesterday I pulled it out and spent the whole day playing with layout and piecing. now I only have the border left to put on, then it'll be ready for quilting! It was fun!

I finished these UFO's from the Boom 17 swaps. I wasn't ignoring all of you, we've been in Florida for the winter and got back to Wyoming about a month ago. Lots of projects to finish but this is a start.

rryder 05-07-2017 10:50 AM

Nice finishes, Jaba! Welcome back.

Rob

anne2016 05-07-2017 11:21 AM

Nice finishes, Jaba. I love the florals.

Sync 05-07-2017 03:49 PM

Looks nice jaba.

Kassaundra 05-07-2017 04:06 PM

Do I get to count a UFO finish since I have one block in one of Jaba's beautiful quilts???? lol lol lol Just kidding, but they are lovely Jaba.

wildyard 05-07-2017 06:08 PM

Jaba I too love your florals, so pretty!!
Rob, for those two you can't choose between, you can do the basket/monkey thing and toss it here for us to choose for you. LOL Give them each a number, name or letter and we will vote for you! You see how good we are at that. Can't wait to see the one you are working on now.

JuanitaBean 05-07-2017 09:59 PM

Nice quilt Jaba like it

I may do that for next Month Linda, I'm getting down to ones that take more effort to complete-- either because of more challenging design problems to solve, or they need repair work before I can really get back to work on them... And then there are those that I've simply lost interest in.... I am doing pretty good at finishing at least one UFO before allowing myself to start anything new, But I've got one long term project and several collaborative WIPs all going on right now which are in danger of becoming UFOs if I can't keep them moving along! not to mention the frustration of having new ideas that I really want to try out--- but then, that's how I ended up with so many UFOs to begin with:rolleyes:

Isnt that the truth Rob. That is how mine get going, I loose interest, come up to something not sure how to do, and then a bright new shiny project comes to view. This is what I call the "Squirrel Syndrome".

Here is the baby quilt finished with the other baby items I made for the couple. Glad to see this UFO done. Now you can see how cute it was. I just think the bibs and booties were fun to make. I am going to make more bibs to have as easy baby gifts. Using up the scrap minkie fabric from the backings of quilts I have made.

Sophie2 05-08-2017 09:12 AM

QM, your baby items are so very cute. Lucky baby!

anne2016 05-08-2017 09:15 AM

The quilt and booties are cute but the bibs are just adorable! So soft and pretty. Lucky couple and lucky baby!

letawellman 05-08-2017 09:26 AM

OMG, QuilterMomma!! How cute are those baby gifts!?!?! I'm sure the parents love these!!

I've been out awhile, between losing a job, then finding a job, then that one getting cancelled, and putting in our garden, and quilting several customer quilts, and so on... I am woefully behind on finishing UFO's.

But I DID finish one this weekend!! I need to a picture taken while the day is pretty.

I've been going back thru the posts, and I'm loving all the finishes!! Good job everyone!! I feel like I've let everyone down this time around, but, well... life happens, right? So, let me finish my lunch and see if I can steal a minute to take that pic of my one-and-only UFO finish for this year.

QuilterMomma 05-08-2017 10:25 AM

Leta, you let no one down. Life does happen and remember, this is to help us finish things, not an obligation. No worries. Come put my garden in.

the bibs were fun to do. Love my embroidery machine.

Sync 05-08-2017 12:00 PM

QuilterMomma, that is a nice baby quilt and the booties and bibs are adorable.

Kassaundra 05-08-2017 12:04 PM

QM great baby quilt.
