What a cute heart baby quilt Madquilter.
Just checking in. I still using up my time on the Bonnie hunter mystery. I really like the pattern and quilt colors. I really like purple. I'm curious how it will look with my fabric. I really like the posted tops so far from her pattern. No I haven't decided on a UFO to work on this month. I did get my quilting machine mostly cleaned off so I can see if I can quilt a top in a week or 2. Next week busy with work and running errands. Now much time for sewing. :( |
Sweet baby quilt. Nice 4 AM finish MadQuilter.

I officially finished my 23 Grandma quilts on March 1. It will be for my oldest daughter. I love the back. I can't imagine what Grandma bought this GIANT floral for. It backs a quilt perfectly though.
|
Sheri, what an amazing accomplishment, so many those quilts for your family members with your Grandma fabric. What a loving thing to do! Congratulations and Toot, Toot for your final Grandma quilt finish. And it's so pretty!

MadQuilter,
Great finish! I have a panel I inherited, with hearts about that size on it. I now know what to do with it. Thanks, for the inspiration. |
Glojean48, Madquilter and SheriR - wonderful finishes! They are all so cheerful. Congratulations!
|
SheriR- congratulations on your beautiful finish.

Bravo and yooo hooo SheriR!

SheriR, that sure is a pretty quilt. Motorcyclemad, glad I could help.

SheriR, that really is a huge floral. I love it! Congrats on finishing your Grandma project!
Martina, what a great baby quilt! You'll have to take a nap today, LOL. |

I finished up some UFOs, just have to get some pictures up. I have two baby quilt panels done and my ducky wall hanging is done. I did finish the 16th Mystery Quilt that paintmejudy had going. Yeah, set the star quilt aside for a brief moment. Yes yes yes, I will get back to it. Felt good to get some finishes though. That is three for me. I know, photos, will do. I think tonight when they are shown at the guild meeting, I will photo them. That will work.
|
SheriR, wonderful quilt. Congrats on the finish of all your Grandma quilts.

Wow such nice work everyone is turning out! I joined a group that created a list and each month they pick a number sadly the January number was one that was a king and not one I had much done on so I am still toiling away at it. I am putting together the center right now so progress is being made but boy is it slow going. Doesn't help I have fallen out of love with the fabrics. Maybe by the end of the month I will get to post something again but I did get my sewing room cleaned up a fair bit as I tried to avoid sewing lol
|
I picked 10 out of my batch and am working on whatever floats my boat. Not sure I would be motivated by someone picking a random number, Altairss. Good for you for sticking with it. So far I have tackled #1 and #9 from my list. #2 is basted and ready for quilting. Why not work on Halloween stuff around Easter, right?

And the wall hanging, number 3. It is a row by row pattern from 2015 that I started. I followed the directions, well mostly. I made the mistake of keeping the fusible on the whole back of the applique which then adhered to the bargello backing. Then had show thru because it was white that was colored with yellow crayon. I decided to thread paint it so that way would look yellow. Worked I think. This will hang in my daughter's bathroom since she has rubber duck theme going.

QuilterMomma, those are cute. Can't pick a favorite.
|
Nice QM!
|
Love those quilts QM- cute patterns. The edge to edge feathers are a nice look, and the ditch quilting on the other quilt really makes it pop. Love the backside on that one. The ducky is fun--fantastic save with the thread painting.

Wow, QuilterMomma! Those baby quilts are fabulous! Some lucky little boy and girl is going to LOVE them. That duck is pretty spot on too. Well done, Lady!

March is off to a great start...thanks for sharing your finishes...now to get at least one done in March....
|
Good morning UFO gang, such lovely March finishes and hooray for the February totals of 53. Looks like I may get that hand quilted charity quilt binding completed in March still working on it. Going to my grand daughter's on the 22nd and will have her to post the pix for us. Now, back to binding, happy SEWing gang.
|
QuilterMomma,
These are all precious! Loving the progress Whoo-Hoo!!! |
Oh thank you all.
|
What wonderful quilts, QuilterMomma! It's so interesting to see the effect of different quilting on two similar quilts.
|
A binding I will be, a binding I will be, and then there will be a finish!!!!!!

I have 4 done--Yaayyyy! The first three are the "Mile-a-Minute" strip quilts. I miss counted the number of strips and they were not wide enough (about 36" each), so they were on hold until they got borders. The fourth is a Jelly Roll kit I got from "Scrap Angel".
The first pic is one of the strip quilts sans borders, then the 3 with borders. The final pictures are of the jelly roll quilt with pieced borders. |
QM your quilts are darling! I agree, I wish my quilting was half as nice. The rubber ducky is perfect! Makes me "think about" digging out some row by row kits I have hidden. :D
motorcyclemad, your strip quilts are so fun! I need to get busy! |
I have always liked the jelly roll mile a minute quilts, they always come out so different. Plus they are fun to quilt because you can play with designs and they still look good. Love your brown one, that is pretty. The way the colors flow.
SheriR, I have a few of those from last year. I have a pattern from every state so I will be working on that in May to get done before the next one comes out in June. |

Morning everyone!
Motorcyclemad- you've been busy! 3 mile a minutes and a very cool pieced border on the jellyroll quilt---good job! Cherrybsixty- looking forward to seeing your handquilted March finish,---have fun visiting with your granddaugter. My March UFO has been languishing while I work on finishing up a WIP, but I should be able to get to it by the end of the week. Meanwhile it's back to being cold here in Central Va. We only got a little sleet and freezing rain (which melted as it hit the ground) out of the big storm that tracked up the coast, but the winds howled all day yesterday and into last night bringing wind chills in the teens. Today the high should be in the thirties--all of which reminds me that I need to get caught up on my temperature quilt. I hope everyone is staying warm and safe. Rob |
