Those new additions are so bright and cheerful and so .....finished.
My latest project took a step backwards yesterday. Tried some Ruler work and it looked REALLY BAD. So I spent some time picking out quilting stitches. Hope to get moving forward again tonight. |
I went to the Mid-Atlantic Quilt fest on Sunday and saw Quilter Momma's dress in real life--it's even more gorgeous than in the pics we saw here. Speaking of which- QM- I sent you a pm.
Sheri- Nice finish, 22 grandma quilts is impressive! Belfry Bat- I like the star, good job on the quilting. Martina- I've had days like that too. Have you been able to get back to it? I've spent a good part of today trying to salvage a UFO. It will probably be my March finish, unless I get really inspired tonight and tomorrow  Rob |
Quilter Momma's where is your drees I must have missed it? I want to see please.
Looks like I'm not going to get a UFO done this month. So I'll try for 2 next month. Congratulation to everyone that got theirs done. |
Congratulations on finishing your UFO! It's often hard to do when it isn't exactly the finished product you originally intended so you get bonus points for completing it anyway along with a big Toot, Toot!

Sherri -- I like your rendition of the Mystery Train quilt -- don't remember the number. I took mine out last week and quilted it over the weekend. Hope to get the binding done next week.
And -- TADA! I have another finish. I found this pattern in a magazine several years ago. It was supposed to be made from vintage sheets and was really soft looking. A couple of years ago I decided to make it from some Marshall's Dry Goods scroll fabric I had. I didn't like the effect since it was so bright. I took it out at the first of month, put a narrow border around it and finished it. It went to a new refugee family from the Congo. I understand they were delighted with the bright colours. It measured 75" square -- the largest I've made and actually quilted myself. |
SheriR, congratulations on nearing your Grandma quilt goal! That's so pretty with the bright aqua.
Belfrybat, that doesn't look all that bright to me -- it's beautiful! And how nice to know it is appreciated. QuilterMomma, congratulations on your second place finish with the amazing dress! |

I have a February finish!! Woohoo! I made these 4 Patch Posy blocks but was not quite happy with how they came out, so they sat around for quite a while. Recently I was inspired to use them as part of a scrappy quilt I am calling Scrappy Happy Heart. I am gifting it to my daughter-in-law who is going thru some stressful times at her work lately... a comfort quilt in a different and special way!
|
good use of orphan blocks, Linda!
|
Definitely scrappy and a great way to use those blocks.
|
Love the scrap quilt, Linda!! A great use of scraps, and a wonderful way to help your daughter-in-law!
And, Belfrybat, that is a great star quilt! It doesn't look that bright from the picture. Glad you found it a happy home. |
Very creative setting, wildyard...you come up with such good solutions to quilt problems:)
|
Belfry Bat-Your finish is GREAT! Bright colors or not. Gotta love when you give it to someone who appreciates it.
|
Love getting more UFO's off my list!

I finished two more UFO's as well as a little Christmas project I started in mid-January. The Disappearing Nine Patch is made with Robyn Randolph fabrics; the block pattern for the other one is called "Rusty's Block" and I used a Valentine print for the focal fabric; I made use of some of my buttons with the little embroidered Christmas tree - a fun little quilt to make.
|
Sorry...that should be Robyn Randolph fabrics
|
Cute projects Glojean, but gotta love the little tree...
|
Great finish and it looks like your getting ready for Christmas time.
|
Love your design. Great way to use those blocks.
Glojean those are lovely. Congrats on the finishes! |
I absolutely LOVE that little tree! Well done!
|
GloJean,
These are great! I used to know how it feels to get a UFO done. I have had a set-back. I just added 3 to my pile and I did NOT get the 2 done for Feb. |
Scrappy Happy Heart is a wonderful name for such a colorful quilt made with love. Congratulations and Toot, Toot for your February finish!

February or March finishes??
Congratulations on your finishes but do they belong in February or March? Either way, congratulations for your two UFO finishes and the darling embroidery piece. Last call on February finishes! Anyone else have a finish for last month?? I'll post the tally in a day or two so there's time to add in any last minute February finishes.
|
Janice....I finished the Valentine quilt in February and the Disappearing Nine Patch yesterday (March 1st).
|
Thank you - I think I may have to make more of these little trees since it was so much fun.
|
I really like the beautiful randomness of your D9P. Seldom do I see examples that really look so very....beautifully unorganized. Like the simplicity of the diagonal crosshatch quilting too. And your little tree. How sweet. Can I copy it? I need to make some gifts for my colleagues and this would be nice and easy and meaningful for her.
|
Ok! Thanks for letting me know. :)

GloJean -- nice finishes but I've fallen in love with the tree wall hanging. How large did it end up?
|
Glojean, those are beautiful. I just love the look of diagonal grid quilting! And Robyn Pandolph fabrics.
|
Gone a few days and wow, look at those finishes. Love them. That heart one is really cool with all those pieces. No wonder it took some doing.
On my star, yeah I still have not finished. i worked on the mystery quilt though and got all the blocks done for that. Will get back to my torture UFO on Monday. Will quilt all weekend and hopefully finish up a couple more ufos. I will post photos of the two that are completed, binding and all. |
Glogean, such lovely quilts you finished. Great job.
I spent 1/2 day with my guild sew a long and marked my 1/4 sqs for BH 2017 mystery quilt step #7. Hopefully will finish over this weekend. Then I can do the fun part of putting the blocks together over the next few weeks. |
WMUTeach....thank you for your nice comments. Feel free to copy the tree for gifts.

Thank you, joe'smom.....cross-hatching is one of my favorite ways to finish a quilt. I really like the look of it. |

Good Saturday morning to everyone, GLOJEAN beautiful finishes.
JANICE, just wondering what the count is for February? I know I didn't have an add to it, just interested. (nosey) But, there have been some pretty adds to the finish line. I did get my charity quilt, finished hand quilted now on for the binding. I'd planned to gift to a little friend. Let's pray that it don't take another month for that. I did have five UFO planned to finish for this year. I did have a 'stump in road' with a couple of them. I am hoping to work some of that out a little later on. When I do get something finish the art of posting it is the next problem. Well, when we get to that stop we'll have to figure it out. Now, everyone have a good SEW day. |

Finished this little goody at 4 am this morning. It is going to a friend at work who just had a baby.
|
4am finish! Love it.
|
Looks like a good start for March! Cute baby quilt, Martina.
