Great job on your finish and your convergence. I was fascinated by it to and had to do one a year or so ago. I put an applique bird in flight on mine.

FINALLY! One done. I made this wall hanging to try out Ricky Tims' Convergence technique. One REALLY has to keep the head in the game so there are some mis-cuts but I trudged on. The quilting is STID and I think - well, I KNOW that I didn't have it basted well. As a result, the bottom edge got crooked. What's a girl to do? Decided to keep trying more new techniques.
1. Trimmed the bottom edge curvy and nobody will notice the crooked lines. 2. Tried flanged binding and REALLY like that method. 3. Quilted a huge funky feather across the middle in 28 wt thread. It's not real showy but I'm happy with it. All in all, my lemons turned into lemonade. |

Caroline, Sherri and Mntmama- lovely finishes all. Caroline- Wonderful colors in your bargello, someday I'm going to try one. Sherri- those grandkids are sure lucky! The addition of the solids allows the beautiful quilting show. Mntmama-I love all the texture you have going in the background. It really makes the appliqués pop!

I will take a pic of what i have. I have finished about 40 or so of the blocks. I decided I would finish up my mystery train ride and use these blocks as leader enders for a little bit. Want that train mystery to be finished as well. It is pretty. |
I am very excited, my wedding dress took second place in competition. Yes, I will take that one to the bank. Whew, it was worth the work. I first found out via facebook because Cathy Wiggins posted photos on her page. Got lucky with social media.

I took a photo of the setting last night before I took it off the wall to work on something else (yes I am mad at this one) and it is not showing on the phone. Sorry. This is where I was when I picked it up again. I have since made one round of dark diamonds that go around this center. My daughter does not like this one because it is not "color coordinated". Both her and her dad like organized color quilts, not scrappy. I tell them this is organized, dark, red, light.

Oh and yes I am proud. If you can get a good picture Rob, that would be terrific. I only got to see it via facebook and it was in the background of the best in show photo.

I like the star also, just having issues with the technique probably. I do have about 40 done thus far. Will keep plugging away at it. Need to clean up those scraps. Hubby is going to start barking at me because of the mess. LOL

Good morning Guys and Dolls, seems like whenever I a lot to express my laptop says no, make it short. Ok, been away for a few days trying to work on my hand quilted piece. But congrats on all the finishes.

Congrats on your win QM well deserved on that beautiful dress. Love the star too. I struggle with scrappy myself and have been challenging myself to try more. I seem to get overwhelmed but working on it.

And one more UFO on the books!! I dabbled in some quilting art with the tulips here. They seemed to go with the windmill pinwheels I put on the 9patches and stars... Not 100% sure about them, but they look great from my galloping pony!

I need to catch this ride too. I have a queen log cabin I've been working on for a couple of years, and "all" it needs are the borders, backing fabric, then sandwiched and quilted. Two new granddaughters, and various Christmas gifts got in the way of my completing it. My husband keeps asking when we are getting a quilt for our bed. Then there's the one I started for the double bed in the guest room. Borders need completed for that one too. If I get these two done this year, I'll be happy. At least I finished the baby quilts on time!

Sherri -- I like your rendition of the Mystery Train quilt -- don't remember the number. I took mine out last week and quilted it over the weekend. Hope to get the binding done next week.
And -- TADA! I have another finish. I found this pattern in a magazine several years ago. It was supposed to be made from vintage sheets and was really soft looking. A couple of years ago I decided to make it from some Marshall's Dry Goods scroll fabric I had. I didn't like the effect since it was so bright. I took it out at the first of month, put a narrow border around it and finished it. It went to a new refugee family from the Congo. I understand they were delighted with the bright colours.
