QM, I can't seem to find the photo of the wedding dress. Is it some pages back?
Patrice, congratulations on all those finishes -- that is major pile reduction! I love the log cabin! Here is some photos. Also on the pictures section, I posted it there as well. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t285945.html Thank you all. |
Now MCM, that is adorable. I don't cross stitch and you did wonderfully.
|
Good finish Rob, we have to start somewhere.

My February UFO is finished. I started this orange thingy last year. My goals for this project: practice (just make something and relax), use bday candy (2.5" squares), try a pattern I haven't done before (D9P), quilt it myself (stop quilting by check).
Practice and relax. Practice accomplished. Relax? See below. I used 48 candy squares. Needless to say, I could cover my city with how many I have left. D9P was fun, trying out different arrangements. Quilt it myself...almost failed this one. I wanted to do free motion flames, but was close to a conniption fit (not relaxed) in the process. A little reverse sewing and it was headed for the mail for someone else to deal with!!! Lots of slow, deep breathing and calming tea (relax)...I quilted it using straight lines and my walking foot. Then...the chaco wouldn't come off of the white areas (not relaxed). This almost went into the trash!!! I tried magic eraser. No luck. Carpet cleaner and 2 washings later, it came out. A good strong pressing and now it's done! And good riddens!! (very relaxed) |
Fraew I really like your quilt the colours are lovely. I quilt all my own quilts and always intend to be ambitious with the design but usually end up with walking foot straight or curving lines or heart/vine meander. One day.

Fraew good job on finishing your Feb. UFO.
|
Your perseverance paid off! That's a beautiful quilt Fraew.

Thanks for the link, QuilterMomma. That dress truly is amazing.
Fraew, I know we can all relate to those feeling of tension and frustration when machine quilting, LOL. But you persisted and it looks great. I love the striped binding. |
Thank you all. Love this thread. :)

TaDa!!! Finally a finish. Actually two. The first is Grand Illusion. I had a visceral dislike of this pattern so the almost completed top has sat in a cabinet for three years. In my quest to finish UFOs, I got it out, added a top and bottom border to make it a rectangle and put it on the Bailey last week. Just finished the sashing today.
The second is Tiddlewinks, one of my favourite scrappy patterns. I finished the top last year and it was in my "to be finished" pile and I finally quilted it last week and finished binding it today. Both of these are charity quilts. I have seven more that I have quilted but need binding, so hopefully I'll have two or three more by the end of the month. ETA: I didn't see the mistake in the Tiddlewinks until I posted this picture. Can't see the forest due to the trees! |
Yay Belfrybat! And stop telling on yourself. This is a safe space. :)
|
Great job, Belfrybat!! I have heard that the Amish will make sure they insert an error into their quilts to show that only God is perfect, and I always joke that I don't have to make an effort to insert an error!! (I have since learned that the story is a myth, but I still think of it when I mess up.)
|
Good job Belfrybat!
|
Belfrybat, I remember how much you disliked Grand Illusion. Congrats on finishing it! I love what you did with the border, and love your Tiddlewinks! (I'm not sure what the error is, so it must not be very obvious.)
|
Belfry at love both your quilts, would never have noticed mistake if you hadn't mentioned it. Why do we always do that?

A small wall hanging to add to the UFO totals. I had a tie challenge a few years back and started this block. The brown and blue fabrics are from real ties taken apart. Don't have a clue what I will do with the WH. I guess it will hang out in my closet until someone decides they want it. Anyway it's done.
|
Congratulations, Belfrybat! These are both colorful and beautiful and you certainly earned bonus points for finishing Grand Illusion despite disliking it so much. Toot, Toot. Great work.

February UFO finish!! I made this quilt top last summer but moved on to other projects for the fall. The pattern is named Summer Leaves. I used two charm packs to make the leaves. I quilted and bound it this week. Not finished a minute too soon....it is a gift for a March 4th wedding. Labeled and ready to go!! Whoop! Whoop!! |

SheriR, a lovely finish and such a pretty quilting design! |
These bright cheery finishes are delightful and make me want to get the 5 flimsies paired with backing fun and done. Maybe next week I will get started on them! Thanks for sharing...

Oh Fraew, that is a nice February finish. love the colors, my daughter is very partial to orange tones. |
Beautiful SheriR. Love the quilting.
|
Send me good vibes please! This scrappy crazy patch star ufo project has about got me frustrated to the max. I am having trouble focusing on it. It has only been 19 years and I can surely see why. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My kitchen is clean, sewing area organized, scraps organized, plan of action for longarm move, mending done, even dog toys fixed including the hand stitch repair. Only 86 more blocks to go. LOL
|
Love the finish MtnMama
|
Cute tie finish happylab.
