OK...time to commit or be committed! I'm joining this bunch of busy bees because I have a pile of UFOs and a bunch of new ones that I want to start. Going to force myself to finish at least 5 before I jump into my Christmas gifts!
Here's my accountability list: Blue & white blocks from Boom 7...needs basted and quilted Batik Blocks from another Boom of Aprils...blocks only My Dancing Cranes Quilt from a Round Robin here on the QB...needs basted and quilted Brown & Teal lap quilt...blocks only Christmas throw..left over from Christmas...ready to FMQ Santa brought me a new Bernina (a 530)..and it was on backorder, so I am saving the ones that need quilted until she gets here...sometime this month! I am so excited! It was a gift from the Doctor I Nanny for! |

Fyi, I'm working on Bonnie's mystery and didn't get to a UFO this month. I did get almost finished on a tie wallhanging. I also started 3 more projects in January. 2 of these projects will take me a full year to complete. |
Ok I'm game! The King quilt I'm working on right now has been waiting to be quilted through 3 moves now and I'm finally quilting it. I also have a table runner that needs basted and quilted.

Excellent, Janice!! Looks good to me!
Go, minibarn! I look forward to seeing the pictures! |
Love the finishes I'm seeing on this thread. Although I don't have any finishes for January, I did quilt 6 tops on the Bailey in the past two weeks so they are ready for the binding. That is my February goal: to completely finish the quilted tops. (January's goal was to quilt at least 5, so I'm happy with my progress). I have four more to quilt and then I'm going to push Bailey back up against the wall again for a couple of months while finish the ones I've quilted. I'm beginning to feel like the little train that could.
|
Well UFO'ers this is the first time I've was away for a couple days and come back and there is no finishes. We must be getting ready for the January totals.
Happylab (pg 37; 364) That staying on track is hard for me also. Trying hard to keep my featherweights humming. Belfrybat (pg 37: 369) Push on down those tracks you are making progress. Happy Groundhog day and make it a good sewing day everyone. |
I've been in some long and boring meetings lately. Decided to doodle FMQ patterns and my feathers are starting to look and feel fabulous. This is a great way for me to prep finishing the UFOs because fear of FMQ is one reason for not finishing.

Martina....studies say doodling while listening helps you retain what is being said...I think the practice of feathers is a wonderful side benefit:)

I'm ready to piece the 2 halves of this charm quilt together...then borders...it's progressing... |

I have finished 2 pillow projects for this month. Yay for me! One for my daughter, and other for her friend. (sorry no pics) Glad to be making a dent |
Jeanine, Toot, Toot for your finished baby quilt. Congratulations! We hope to see a picture. :)

I got the baby quilt finished. Awful quilting, but whose looking. I actually took a picture. Now, if only I can find the correct cord to get the picture into the computer. This quilt was not friendly from the get-go. But it is done, I'll get it in the mail tomorrow. I'm ready to start another one. Just hope the machines will work better. Using a thin batting this time. Will also check tension before I begin. I'll get used to having a 2 yr old here again.

I actually completed a UFO this month too!!! I am so excited. I am working on sewing down the hanging sleeve and the label then I will get a picture to post. Now to figure out what project to tackle for Feb.
|
In our first month of 2017, we averaged just under one per day. Oksewglad, Krystyna, Rryder, Libster, JMoore, PatriceJ, MtnMomma1955, Fraew, Kristijoy, All2Pieces, CarolynPaj, Sophie2, JuanitaBean, HappyNana, Glojean, Mariposa, Jeanine, Janice McC, and MiniBarn all contributed at least one finish for a combined total of....28 UFO finishes this month! TOOT, TOOT to everyone who had a UFO completion and to those of us who are working away for a finish in the near future. Thanks very much! Nice way to start the year! This train ride is starting of very well! :)
|
That is great news! It encourages me to keep working on my UFOs.
|
I'm on this train. My New Years Resolution was to finish at least one UFO before starting a new project. I have just recently finished one and almost finished with another. I want to get several more finished before I start another project which is calling to me (Hanging Gardens) for which I have pattern and fabrics.
|
Good news, Janice...a this rate that's 365 for the year, but I know we can beat that...the charming 9P centerpiece is sewn and ready for borders...whew this one's taking a lot of time....and I'm thinking of the next UFO to finish...that's a good sign, right?
|
Two beautiful finishes, jmoore! That's an interesting looking gizmo you have on your ruler in the second photo.
|
It's a FINE sign! :)

Can I get half a toot? This flimsy I've been working with is now complete...now to rustle up some batting and backing from stash.
|
Wow, that is wonderful Janice!! I should be able to add to the count soon. I have finished everything but the binding on the project I was working on. So hopefully I can move to a few UFOs once I get that binding complete.
|
Here ya go OKsewglad--Toot!
|
Hi everyone  Love seeing all the projects. Beautiful finishes to all. I've finally caught up on the posts and added this thread to my subscriptions. Now I've got to get off the computer and back to my machine. Cheers!
|
I just finished the top for a not UFO quilt. Once I finish that quilt, my next project will be to finish a UFO. It's a quilt made of first year baby clothes for a friend of my daughter's. Her little boy is almost 3 now. LOL, time to get that one done and out of my space.
|
Well, I don't know if it would count as a UFO since it was a UFO that I finished as part of last year's challenge, but I just finished sewing the label on a quilt from 2015/2016 to send off to the Mid-Atlantic Quilt fest. I had to re-do the hanging sleeve to meet their rules (the one I put on last year was 1/2" too small). That entailed un-sewing the binding from the back of the quilt, removing the old hanging sleeve, enlarging it, and putting it back on. It was just as well since I'd machine stitched the binding to the back and this gave me the opportunity to hand-stitch it down. I also had to add a label with all the information on it that they wanted. I got the notice on Friday that the quilt had been accepted, and have spent the entire weekend fixing stuff on it so I can ship it to them tomorrow. HMM, to count it as a UFO or not?????

Hmmm, I see the problem. Same quilt? That might be stretching the "rules" a bit but I'll let you call it. No UFO police here remember? Congratulations on acceptance into the show. :)

Congratulations, jmoore, on your two finishes! Toot, Toot! As a scrappy gal, I particularly like the Arkansas Crossroads. Very nice!

Love all of the finishes this month.
I have been distracted by Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt, ( starting step #7) and starting the quilting bee sew along, and Judy's mystery train quilt (on step #2, cut out #3 & #4). Deciding colors on the 365 challenge and fabric on the temperature quilt. I do plan to complete a small UFO wall hanging later this week, and start another UFO project to count for February's UFO project. Happy quilting and sewing everyone. |
Thanks Janice. While I would love to call it my UFO finish for Feb. since that would allow me to start a brand new piece (to get put on the pile of future UFOs:D). I can't really bring myself to let me off the hook that easily, so not a UFO. Sigh....off to the UFO pile to find something to finish for Feb....:sew::sew::sew::sew::sew::sew::sew::sew:

Jmoore and Janice those are lovely quilts!
Rob congratulations on your acceptance. How exciting! |
Congratulations on the January totals, good job to all.
I was hoping that I could finish the top that I found in the stash for February, not going to happen, the 401A would sew through it. So with that I started to hand quilt it. But looking forward to what will be completed for Heart Month. Happy Sewing everyone |
Hi Guys,
This month I promise to finish a bargello table runner that I started. Hopefully that will get done! Hugs Caroline |
