Interesting block placement, Dedemac. Wonderful use of those leftover blacks pieces, too. Looks great!
|
Congratulations on the recent finishes! They are fun to see.
|
That’s looking great Dedemac!

I'm in, too. I started to do this last fall and got a few done but I still have some left. These two are the top of my list as one is for my bed at home, and the other is for my bed in our RV.
|
Karen - sounds like you have alot on your.... cutting table. Love those National Park panels. Can't wait to see what you did with them!
|
Welcome, Karen! I'm glad you found this thread. We love pictures and progress reports.
|
Another welcome to you Karen...you sound normal to me...and to a lot of us here on the thread! Please share.
I haven't been working on UFO's recently, but working with fabrics from my personal quilt shop. Yet another challenge! |
Welcome, Karen! I love Jane Austen fabric collection. Especially, the fabric that is printed with her personal writing. I have to go to the Fabric Moratorium and confess that I bought 2 yards of that for no particular reason except that I really liked it. Lol... Looking forward to seeing your completions...good luck!
|
Welcome, Karen! Looking forward to hearing about your progress and seeing pics.

No quilting for me this week, I'm waiting on a new walking foot. Finally figured out why I could not get it to work properly on my preferred machine. The model I got was for a wide set of feed dogs, it works on the ziz-zag machine but not on the monkey wards. So I ordered one from the featherweight shop and when it gets here I will give SID another try.
Welcome Karen |
Welcome Karen to the UFO crowd and I too am looking forward to what you have to show us. But, we're here, to help you on to completing whatever it is that you want to get off your table.
I too, have not worked a UFO in a while, but I did finish a new apron, mask and chef' hat for a friend I really got to get it off to her. Well everyone have a safe and warm coming week and I pray that the snow melts, the power is restored and the water supply gets better Happy week all cherryb |
Dedemac: Thanks for the chuckle on monkey wards. I remember those stores. Fingers crossed the new walking foot will work.
cherry: You have been busy working on fun projects plus mask making. There will be a time for your UFO’s sometime in the future. My main machine is in for a cleaning and, hopefully, the zigzag sensor can be fixed without getting a new part. I moved my other machine to my favorite sewing spot and need to work on my UFO tea towel that I pulled out last week. I’m also working on a quilt top that I’m trying to keep out of UFO land. 🤷♀️ |

Hey all, I have a finish. I signed up for Helen Godden's BOM for 2017 a couple of years ago and did all the painting and quilting of individual squares, but then put them away before joining them into the finished quilt. Here it is. It's approx. 58"L x 47"W. Thanks for looking.

Finally have a UFO finish. January was a bust for me, but at least I finished something this month. Hopefully there will be more finishes in March.
|
Sync - very nice kimono quilt.
|
Sync- beautiful kimono quilt! Congratulations on getting it done.
thanks, Jeanine! Rob |
Sync: Great finish! I like the circular quilting.
|
I have enjoyed all the UFO's being finished and appreciate all the pictures!
I didn't know about this thread at the start of the year, but after a LONG time away from quilting, I got a bug this New Year's and started dragging out projects that weren't done and some that weren't even started. I've been sewing like a crazy person for two months and I've finished a lot of tops and quilts. I added a few more pictures to my albums, today. I hope to leave each of my children and grandchildren a really nice bed-sized quilt, and maybe even a batch of baby quilts ready for more future grandchildren. |
Thanks everyone. This top was started back in 2016 when Aurifil was doing a BOM mini series. I did have a bit of a scare when this was done .... I couldn’t find the binding that I made for it ...... https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/hug.gif I found it hiding in one of my scrap bins.
|
Thepolyparrot- welcome to the UFO group! Congratulations on getting those projects done and post pics if you get a chance. Also, send a pm to Conchalea telling her how many finishes you have for each month and she will add them to our ongoing group tally.

Lots of great quilts/projects being finished. Thanks for sharing all the eye candy, but once I see a pattern I like I have to add it to my list of future quilts which gets longer every day.
I finished putting the binding on this quilt today. It is for my son to replace the old denim quilt I made him years ago. He's didn't have a long enough wingspan to hold the edges. 85x85 |
Now it's a test to see how long this one lasts him, Mona G. BTW, I was born in Iowa, grew up in Minnesota, and "matured" in Iowahttps://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png
|
Welcome, thepolyparrot!
Sync: I'm glad you found the binding. MonaG: Great finish! |
Mona....great quilt and really neat pattern. My list gets longer, as well, seeing all the beauties created by others.
I picked up my 2 quilts from quilter today and will be putting the binding on them both this week... I dropped another off to her, as well. Staying on top of things here... |

I was finally able to get some pics of a few of my UFOs. These 3 Quillows are almost 2 years old (August 2019). That is when I found out my cousin had 4 girls (not just the 2 I knew she had) and 3 grandbabies, from 7 months to 5 years. The girls have all received their graduation blankets (Moratorium challenge from 2019). With the little ones, They needed something small enough they could handle and big enough that would still be functional as they grew.
The quillows measure 48" x 60". That is the size of the fleece backing. I have a fair assortment of fleece in that size from the "No-Sew Blanket" kits I buy at Joann's when they are on sale for 60|% off. I get two pieces of good quality fleece for less than the price of one. That is what I get them for and it has been quite a while since I've needed any (I went a little crazy the last time). Also, approximately 90% of the material for all of these was from stash--Yay!https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wink.png Here are pics of the front and back of the quillows compressed, and front and back of the one for the little boy, Since there is 5-pic limit, I will do a second post for the two for the girls. |

Hello, I'm back after a power-less week in formerly frigid Texas. Two days ago it was 80 degrees here, merely days after a -2 degrees weather! Psycho weather.
I survived due to K & her husband, who had camping stoves for cooking & a fireplace insert we huddled around for warmth. We all filled buckets with water prior to the big freeze, & then melted snow as needed. Our boil water order was just lifted last night, so things are getting back to normal. In fact, I sewed some on a UFO once power came back. K & I did manage to finish a denim top of her daughter's before we all lost power & it was one of the blankets I slept under during our freeze. So far, I have a count of 20, if MotorcycleMad's quillows count as UFOs. I'll list them in a few days. |
Conchalea, what an ordeal for you (and so many others). I'm glad things are getting back to normal.

Our kids came home for a few days because we strangely did not lose power, this time - only water after a few days. I thought I was decently prepped, but I've already started upping my game after this craziness. We got really lucky, this time. |
Good to hear you Texan’s are safe and getting back to normal. Definitely a good dry run to evaluate your preparedness. We lost contact with many friends for a few days and that was a bit nail biting. But all is well with them..thank the Lord.
|
Motorcyclemad: Congratulations on your Quillow finishes! They will be loved.
Conchalea: How scary! I’m glad the 3 of you were together. thepolyparrot: Fortunately you kept your power. |
Motorcyclemad, great finishes, congrats
|
Conchalea, Polyparrot and other Texans: it must have been hard. I am happy for you that it is over.
Motorcyclemad: congratulations on your finishes! |
Glad to hear you’ve got power back and it’s warmed up, Conchalea!
Rob |
Conchalea and others that had to go through that week of ordeal, was praying that the Creator was keeping you all strong. Just remember come November
Have a safe and sunny few days everyone cherryb |
I started quilting my RWB quilt yesterday. It seems huge to me, 84" X 104". My Baby Lock Jazz II has a big throat so there isn't crowding when I sew in the center. Exactly why I bought the Jazz!
|
I finished 2 this month.
|
Just got 5 UFOs back from the long armer and now all that's needed is the binding. Will get to that next week. Does giving a project away to someone who will enjoy it count as a finish?
