    Default Air Fryers

I love fried foods but avoid them. My cousin told me about Air Fryers. Are they any good?

They are good to a point...like French fries, roasted veggies, some chic recipes. But don't expect to do breaded stuff in it....at least I haven't. Somethings just have to be deep fried...imho. There are many recipes available on line for air cookers. Btw, others may have done more than I have.

Not having all of the grease with what normally has it, takes some getting used to but very fast and good food good for you too. It takes far less time and doesn't heat up the house as much as a regular oven.

I bought one from an online shopping channel and set it back. I didn't like it at all but I did think it would cook fried foods a healthier way. I thought it would cook frozen fries quicker but that wasn't the case and they came out soggy.

Leader at WW has one and she swears by it. Sounds too good to be true but I would try it!

I love the Nu Wave cooker-I have worn out 4 of them. My Dad bakes cupcakes in his and they turn out every bit as good as the oven. I can cook a whole meal in one. But if you do get one make sure you get the glass dome and extension ring-the plastic ones do not last long and are costly to replace. I love fried foods but can't eat greasy stuff and now I have the best fried food and no pots and pans to wash.

Stitchit123 describes what sounds like a halogen oven, which is slightly different from an air fryer, I have the tefal actifry and love it. I've cooked fries, breaded chicken n prawns and all turned out great. Had a halogen and its in garage waiting for a trip to the dump( in UK rubbish centre we get rid of everything lol)

We have an air fryer and like it for making french fries. After drizzling them with healthy oil we fry them for about 15 minutes (stirring every 5 min). Make sure they are starting to brown before serving. That way they will be crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. We also use it for warming leftovers and making toast. Chicken breasts that have been dipped in butter and rolled in crumbs turn out nicely.

I LOVE my Tfal Actifry. Uses only a tablespoon of oil or even less. I actually use this often (unlike many of our impulse purchases) & I am very happy with it. Can't do breaded items in it & especially onion rings (ask me how I know) but everything that I have tried, it does a good job.
