I have my wedding dress my future mother-in-law had helped me make. It was cheaper than buying one off the rack then. that was 36 years ago this past monday. I had boys and they eloped. I am thinking of putting it into a wedding dress quilt.

I had mine cleaned and sealed in a box with a clear window in it so I could sneak a peek whenever I chose. When it was evident our daughter would be too large to use it I gave it to our DIL who had a baptismal suit made from it for our grandson. The next grandson wore it at his baptism also. The dress was a very plain, classic style--round neck, full skirt--in raw silk. It made up into a very elegant baptismal suit for a six-month old. I was so pleased.

Yes, I do. I made it--white, above the knee length--modest for the late 1960s. As soon as I loose 70 pounds I'll put it right on.

I got married the first time at the court house, Ex-husband was Jewish, I'm Episcopal, he didn't want to get married in a Church, I didn't want to get married in a Synagog. Married to him less than 3 years, he hit me, I left, end of that story, lol.. Second time, I was with him for 4 1/2 years, yep, got preggo, and due to limit money, we too got married at the court house. Heading for divorce due to his lack of better judgement, he's talking to someone else from his childhood, in secret until I recently found out and says he wants his privacy, it's only been 31 years. Go figure! ! !. But, there will never be a third trip to the court house, or anyone other house for that fact, for me. No wedding dress either time. I sure think I missed out on that one, sure wished I had planned better regarding the dress and the men in my life.......Oh well, it is what it is....as the kids say......Moving on to a better life, by myself.........

Yes, I have mine that was made for me. Winter White Velvet.
Will be 40 years just after Thanksgiving.
I have my DD's dress (she doesn't have a place to store it) that I made for her. Will be 18 years for her October 30.

My other daughter wore jeans and flannel shirt to the JP. I was the only one invited to the wedding other than the two witnesses. Can't remember how long married, (15 years?), but they've been together since 10th grade.
