That's really sad and I am sure it stings a bit. I would, if you so choose, donate to a nursing home patient who has no family to visit them...or an American Veteran in the same situation...the list goes on.

I have made some things, but not one thing for myself, because I have given them all away. I plan to donate to both of these, as well as making crate quilts for abandoned animals.

I can't even imagine turning down a quilt someone wanted to make for me. Someday I will be gifted one.

I think most of us (I know I do) quilt as an outlet for ourselves for various reasons. I quilt because it makes me happy to be creative. I quilt because sometimes I enter quilt shows, and it's always nice to have your work appreciated by others who see it. I quilt because they make wonderful gifts and it makes me happy to give them. What they do with them afterward is up to the recipient. So continue quilting because it makes you happy for any number of reasons.

Some people just don't appreciate all the work we put into quilts or something we have made ourselves, but those of us who also sew, do appreciate all the work, people are not always the wisest things on earth :D

Donations are always wanted for kids who have cancer that go to cancer camps. Donate a pink one for breast cancer so they can auction and raise money....You have a talent and there are people who appreciate it! .

I have never had that problem. Too many people ask if I would make some for sale but have too many waiting to be made for family!! Sorry no one wants them but there are so many charities that need quilts. I know you can find loving homes for them

My Dad was on dialysis and he was always complaining of how cold he was while getting treatments. He had to sit there for a minimum of 5 hours 3 times a week and just loved to snuggle under a quilt. Thanks for posting...

I have a dress my mother made for me when I was four or five years old (I am now 66). I purchased a frame and am going to hang it for display... my dress of many colors my mother made for me from flour sacks... I love it. Just as your quilts of many colors should be appreciated. There are so many that would adopt you as a family member just to have one of your quilts. People who don't quilt do not understand how much work and love go into them. Keep them for yourself or give to someone who would appreciate them.
