Usually sleep for only 6 hrs with the help of Melatonin to get me sleepy. Get up and lay on couch, watch tv and sometimes fall back to sleep. Wish I could sew but house too small and sewing noise echoes LOUDLY down the hall.

I find that if I nap during the day..at all..that I have a hard time staying asleep, so NO naps!! No matter what 8 hours of sleep is the most my internal clock allows and I never sleep past 7am, so I try to be in bed by 10pm. I do watch tv in bed, but set a timer so it goes off while I'm asleep because if I have it on when I stir in the night, it will catch my attention and wake me up fully and really mess with my sleep. Of course all of us have a few stresses in our live and anxiety is the worst for sleeping, so I try to have most issues resolved before bed. But I have kids, however grown they may be  so sometimes you just lose sleep :!:

If I can get very warm I seem to fall asleep so I sit in front of the fireplace in winter and take a hot bath in summer. My problem is that I fall asleep, sleep about an hour or two, then wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep until about an hour before its time to get up! I've tried warm milk, wine, reading, meditating, sewing, computer, looking at the stars, etc. i even adked my doctor and was told its part of "The Joy of Aging!".
