I have a question. Do you all prepare multiple pieces at once, then sew, then press? I have been doing one piece at a time, but it finally dawned on me I could sew all the 1s to 2s, then press, trim, and add the 3s.

Huskyquilter, I sew the block before pressing with an iron; I 'hand' press as I go along on pp. Lovely blocks so far. Here is mine:

Oh Boy!!! Are we on a roll, Yeah! Great blocks all!!

    Nina, Thanks!

Huskyquilter, I cut all my fabric, then pin all the pieces on the paper..then sew all the pieces..trim the seams, finger press to make sure they're all properly aligned then press.

I then sit on the sofa and pin the sections together then repeat the sewing, trim etc.

Husky, just to be safe, I usually do one unit before doing the others that are the same. That way if I've done anything wrong, I've only done one wrong. These blocks are challenging me, which is a good thing. I'm getting a real sense of accomplishment from doing them.

Here are my blocks for this week.

Huskeyquilter - I try to chain piece my blocks when I can. The checkerboard below was so easy to do that way. I glue stick the first piece onto the paper for all the pieces, then trim them all, then pick them up one by one and sew the second piece on, one right after the other. Works for me!

such beautiful blocks... I am among one of the challenged but will perservere even if it kills me. I only wish I had a few extra hours in my day for sewing. You gals are awesome and very motivating.

Great blocks everyone! I had mine done but forgot to look for the new thread yesterday so here they are. My corner in Alice is there...just folded under.

Got started on Alice last night and she was demanding all of my concentration! Only got pieces A & B done, mostly because I was making dinner at the same time, and going back and forth from the kitchen to the sewing machine. The good news is that my new strategy for the foundations has seemed to solve the ink running issue (thanks for the tips on the laser printing causing the problem). Yay! I also posted my Addie and Aimee pictures finally! Won't make much progress tonight, but have my fingers crossed that I can finish Alice on Thursday night and Ann over the weekend.

I love all the blocks posted so far! It gives me a lot of ideas on how to pair colors/prints. I tend to go monochromatic and everything ends up one color of varying shades. I love that look, but really like that I'm learning from you guys.
