Cute machine! So, Do we call the decals Art Deco; if so, then it makes it easier to find a machine similar in shape. Still don't know who manufactured the machine. I was able to find an Apartment Electric.

Hopeful someone else will come to the rescue.

So, top machine is the one you posted.
Bottom machine is the one I found.

Don't know if it helps, but the ISMACS needle list says that the Apartment sewing machines were made by Free. (You can find a lot of makers of badged machines using this list.) Free also made some early machines for Sears, Roebuck & Co- very early VS ones. Maybe this one was made by Free.

Also the Davis company made some - it is shaped like a Minnesota,too. (Found this one on etsy - didnt know they had machines so cheap!0

Any thoughts on this one? I called about it - I can't tell a lot from the picture, but I've wanted a toy Singer. What should I be looking for- and what do they go for? Ive seen them go for a lot more on eBay,and that's not counting the shipping. I think it looks like a centennial one.

I have this machine with a different name. Our Special

Anamarie, your machine looks like several made in the 20's. I have a New Home T No 3, made in 1926 - electric friction motor that looks similar too -pictured on page 665 and in photo shop on page 9. These are usually 3/4 sized machines. I can't tell by the picture, but I am guessing your new machine is a 3/4 size?

It's the tension control. You'll notice there is no circular tension control on the left front of the machine. My HONEYMOON has the same control.

I am going to look for a parts donor machne tomorrow for the missing screw and also an OSMG at a couple of places in town.

I took the motor off my early 20's machine and I bought a belt for the treadle. I've not tried to sew as I've got the head in the dining room being cleaned and the cabinet in the barn waiting to be refinished.

Everything seems to move fairly well when I turn the wheel, so I'm hopeful that I won't need to completely take it apart.
