Yep, I'm trying to figure out changing my pattern as well. Not content to leave well enough alone, we have to make things harder for ourselves, lol. I always start thinking about a swap project and go "Eh, that pattern is too easy. The point of the swap is something you wouldn't make yourself." Then I go off on a tangent and either try a new technique or change the pattern I decide on to make it different, then I end up with 10 different fabrics in the project before I know it, lol. My home decor swap project won't have 10 different fabrics, but it's definitely different, and not easy.

Well, today's sewing & laundry day! Better get to it!

you guys make me smile what a nice way to start my day

I get patterns or should I say look at patterns and if I do make them I make changes. Oh not on purpose. I start doing what I think it says to do and then look back and say hey ..why does it look.. different? only to realize oh you left off a row or duh that was for the NeXT section and well too late charley now.. so I just impro and it works I totally prefer to just look at a fabric and think squares.. points.. strips, frame it. or nine patch or whatever the little fabric says. Thankfully it never says paper piece it. PHEW for all of us. Company last night suprise visit from my son and his girl. That was the lovely part. went way down hill right after. then back uphill after that. I sure dont like times like that. Stress I could toss right out the window. Give me peace any day of the year. all days of the year actually. today will be a new day hopefully a sewing one as they head on over to her parents cabin for breakfast with them. phew. can I help you load up your car ..does that describe how much joy I have? sheesh.

i just love talking to y'all! virtual sewing day, virtual friends! i have 3 possible tr's and can't decide which way to go. i hate choices almost as much as i hate change! but that is what life is all about. my dh has put most of the sm cabinet together. i put the drawers together. woo hoo! of course, the sewing machine opening is about an inch too short so 'we' will be making a cut out or returning the thing and that will be very tough because it is not designed to be taken apart. holy minoley! my back and i are not on conversational terms today. i was up all night, did get 2 hrs sleep this a.m. but i'm not sure that's going to be enough. i will soon be in the groove, especially if my cabinet gets finished! my son called me from london on the 14th, near midnight his time. we have a family tradition i started when the kids were little. the night before their birthday they give me their last kiss for that age. then in the morning they give me their first kiss for their new age. even as adults my kids still call with their kisses. usually they call a few minutes before midnight so they can give me the two kisses on either side within minutes of each other. even the 2 with significant others still give me my kisses. i'm so glad it is meaningful to them still. it means the world to me! btw, they are 34, 32 and 26. still infants to me!! LOL

OK, it's 14" wide, edge to edge. From the inside corner behind the blender to the outside corner in front of my purse is 57". Does that help? Wait, that's confusing. OK, it can be up to 57" long, lol.

Oh my, I just noticed my kitchen must look frightful with all the junk on the end of the bar and the medicine on the corner in the background. Must get the man to put his toys away!

Since I'm sharing kitchen photos, I thought I'd share a picture of my boyfriend's pride & joy...the "coffee bar"

One of these days I'm going to find the perfect tiny spoon rest to put with this gaggle of coffeemakers. In the meantime, I usually use a tiny bowl that came with our sushi set, lol.

Dustysmom lol big time. i had this vision forgive me of this stark blank, empty home ..minimalist and all and while i visually did a check of ok that counter is i would have been close I thought its at least 12 and maybe 15 wide but length lost me. then you post about the 'stuff' i wasnt looking at stuff at all! so now I look. a minimalist man yet you can have spices on the counter? I had to smile. I think your maybe not as stark as you painted a picture! lol sorry if that came out bad. you have a counter, a purse, a table and spices and .. heck your.. NORMAL. phew. maybe a bed too?

Nancia dont you dare start cutting on that thing til you know you can get it to work or just take it back half built and say you take it apart here is the receipt sorry. run... nice to have traditions with our kids isnt it? Here I sit pooped out mine suprised me wore me out and left again. nap time for bonzo. accomplished crud. got one block done today so far. maybe later right always time later on!

Oh, we only have that out because it goes with the twirly thing with the old knives, and the spoons and the manual can opener in it (he said we don't need an electric can opener, so when I moved in, mine was relegated to storage.) If my living room wasn't strewn and there wasn't a sick bear sleeping on the couch I'd send you a picture. Other than the table full of remotes, and the Auburn blankets folded up on the couch, the living room is pretty minimalist. Everything has to have a place and be in that place or it needs to either go in a cabinet/drawer/closet or it's gotta go.

Yeah, we're kinda normal, in a way, I guess. Does having an electronic drum kit at the foot of our bed count as normal? He's gonna kill me for this (not that he'll ever read it) but we put the drums in there when his mom came to visit almost 2 years ago. They were originally in the guest room where my sewing table lives now. The reason he left them there after she left was so that he can have naked drumming time, either in the morning before his shower, or in the evenings between changes of clothes from the suit to casualwear when we're going somewhere. He's also been known to do it before the evening pre-bedtime "reading." I'll be glad when he learns another beat though. He seems to only play the same thing over and over, lol.
