The magnetized bowls are the best! It is so easy to just keep my pins in that and not worry about them spilling out. I have 2, one at either end of my long arm. I need a couple more so I can have one at my regular machine and one at my pinning/cutting station. They are wonderful.

Hmmmm, would never have thought of that one!! :-) My hubby was amazed at my "renewed interest" of going up and down the isles to see what I might be able to "convert" to sewing supplies. Also insofar as the stubby screwdriver - there was another set for about $5 that was more like a ratchet set up with 4 or 5 different tips on it that are super. Can't remember what it was called but was mentioned/and shown on a previous HF discussion here.

Yes, and that is another option - - shop and order by mail - - but it is harder to let your imagination roll in a catalog (online) as to when you see the stuff up close. :-)

I have bought a lot of the things already talked about but I was making out an order for dental picks from a sewing and quilting catalog for around $ 20.00 when DH ask if I wanted to go with him to HF. I went and found the same picks for $3.99. Needless to say I bought them and tore up the order form. I have been very pleased with everything I have bought from them.

Cutting blades, and tool boxes to hold neat sewing tools are the main things. Obviously I dont shop there much, s these last for quite some time, but you cant beat the prices!

Last week I got a FREE 36" Pick-Up and Reach Tool (free with any purchase). Not magnetic but sometimes we drop things that are not magnetic, like a thread spool or book etc. Or we need to reach up high for an item. This tool will pick up & hold anything up to 2 lbs. I use it a lot and it was FREE. We sewers do cook also, and I have bought several ceramic knives for the kitchen. The little ceramic paring knife is great but be careful, very sharp.

I just bought a magnetized wrist band for use with my longarm. It has a velcro opening but it also stretches to put it on easily. It looks like a rectangle mirror, but it's a magnet.

That's it I'm going with hubby next time. He'll say for what.
I'll just tell him for togetherness.

I bought a long handled gripper for reaching under my deep sewing counter to pick up stuff that is not magnetic. Similar to this one, but cost $4.99. Sure saves pain in my back and neck from getting down and crawling under there!
