Try talking to the owner of the store where you bought the software. I had the hasp device break and was told sort of the same thing by corporate. But my LQS was able to help me by contacting the company and getting me one. I know your issue is different but maybe they have a solution or idea for you. Good Luck!

You are really scaring me. I am looking to purchase an embroidery machine. I now hear of these problems than can arise. Maybe I don't need one. Maybe something really simple.

My sympathies! Perhaps you can get the old XP software, or whatever it is you need to be compatible installed on your computer (for a fee, of course).

Have you tried to install your software in your new computer and right click on the icone and select RUN AS.. In the drop down list, Select the operating system version that was working in your old computer ;-)

Or may be it will not install at all?

You can also click on the install icon and install as older version (but this tip I am not sure I would need to test this option)

Do not trow away your old computer or hard drive. May be you can find somebody a friend or even family member that have computer knowledge and could at least just copy your files recovered from your old hard drive onto a new one. My Father had a computer that failed and the repair guy told him he needed a new computer that all was lost. My Daughter and I looked at the hard drive and were able to recover his files. My Daughter fixed the Fan (that was the only problem) and all was working again. So now I know always have a 2nd opinion when comes to computer repair guys ;-)

It is so discouraging when a computer is only a couple of years old and already out of date.
Thanks for the info, I no longer want an embriodery machine.
Just to much hassel and expense.
