My relation(????????) was a Rathbone, my maiden name and was with Lincoln at the Ford Theater when shot. His name was Colonel Rathbone. His wife went mad and he locked her in a closet until she died. When we visited Ford Theater I saw a pix of him and he had my Dads' prominent nose.

I was working (as a waitress) at a snobby country club when I had to ask a lady to put out her cigarette as it was bothering another lady. She told me..."Young person, My relatives came over on the Mayflower!" I replied..."Really? My forefathers were there to greet them." Actually I am 1/8 Apache.

I would not be able to go into everything about mine but a couple of interesting things are that my maternal grandfather ran moonshine in KY and one of my cousins married a black man in KY over 40 years ago and they are still together. They go to the family reunion and thankfully he has always been accepted as our family. I may not agree with this but every family has skeletons.

Supposedly, one of the men in my family had to have a leg amputated when a tree fell the wrong way while he was clearing land. It was the 4th of July and he always said he should have been out celebrating "gettin' drunk like the rest of my damn-fool neighbors and it woulda never happened!"
