Well, fellow quilters, I fell off the wagon with a thud today. I was prepared to buy a sale fabric for a backing (without any guilt, lol!), but my LQS had gotten in some Moda scrap bags! I love them! They are selvedge strips from the cutting of layer cakes -- about 30 inches long -- all from a single line of fabric -- usually able to cut 2.5 inch strips from most of them, great for baby and/or donation quilts. I bought 5 of them (about 2 yards each). I'm climbing back up on the wagon now and promise to be better in the future. Thanks for all your support!

I need some batting...does that count? I have finished the second quilt top this year from stash only, but don't have enough batting! If I just run into the fabric store for just that one thing, I should be good right? Maybe I should just buy it online and not have the temptation! 😏

Batting to finish a quilt is not adding to the stash...It's helping to reduce it! Go for it...

Linda, sounds like a bargain that could not be missed!
Pyffer, I have a problem shopping online... I need batting, but gee, I HAVE TO add just a bit of fabric to get up to the free shipping amount. It's a slippery slope! Good luck!
I'm putting together a test block for a new quilt and it's not going well. I just fantasy shopped a bit to cheer myself up. Put some stuff in my shopping cart, then deleted it all. Time to go back & see if I can figure out where I went wrong.

pyffer3 listen to oksewglad batting to finish a project is a good thing.
Lteachergeorge so to hear about your fall. But I'm looking forward to what you do with the 2.5 inch strips. I've only done the criss cross placemats with them and it was a lot of work.

I bought one yard of fabric that added to my stash when I went in for a yard I needed. I'm calling it my pouty purchase however. I guess I broke my foot (don't know how) and after a month of pain finally broke down and went to the doctor so now I have to wear a walking boot in the middle of winter. Grrr! Guess it'll give me an excuse to sit around and sew more Presently trying to make a cover for the boot so I can get around in snow and slush without getting the boot really dirty. And to cover my little toes!

elly66 hope you heal fast. I found brown and green fat quarter I needed last month. Used some other fabric in my stash and it worked out fine.
