Yes, I made it a couple of years ago. It's paper pieced and the star is about 30" in diameter. I've attached it below. It's mostly batiks with a couple of Moda Marbles in the mix. It took one weekend to do all the prep work and another weekend to piece it. The quilting was done on the next Saturday morning.

Right now I am in a last minute rush to finish sewing on the final triangle border of my Baby Jane. I have 1 triangle and 1 corner to finish, & then it's on to the borders that will become the scallops. I usually machine sew on Saturday & Sunday (before church) mornings. Then in the afternoons it's sit and hand piece or quilt or whatever.

WOW Kathy, when you decide to make a quilt you certainly move quickly. That is beautiful and I know you hand sew everything.

Nice to see a bigger pic of this quilt Kathy - it looks even better!

I was studying your quilt Kathy...I really like the way you did the corner treatment. I added those skinny tri's to a Round Robin quilt this year and when I got to the corners..I had a huge "duh" moment. Wish I had looked at yours before I did that one. Yours is such a lovely quilt..and done so quickly!!

I've got a Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, Affairs of the Heart & always a Mariner's compass or 2 lurking. Was thinking about Little Brown Bird, but the book is out of print & copies are outrageous right now. Will wait until Amazon.com has them at a more reasonable price.

This is just a sample of what I will probably collect. For the most part, I only bought 1/4 yard cuts. This way I'm challenged to use lots of fabrics, or be judicious in what I put where. "If I only have just so much, how & where will I use it to make the most of it?" That is half the fun of sampler quilts!

By the by, Jane's Journey is getting her final musliln borders as we speak - sort of. I'm taking a break to get a pot of spaghetti sauce going, but thought I'd check in. The backing fabric is in the wash, the batting has been spread out on the basting table & I'm ready to get her basted - probably tomorrow or later tonight. We still haven't had a frost, but any day - goal is in sight!

Love you guys.

P.S. The ladies at quilt club Thursday night were thrilled when I presented myself for show & tell. I was showing ME bacause they were going to see a lot more of ME in the coming years now that DH has a job right here! Also showed my Harbor Freight carpet cutter & blades. They were thrilled to find reasonable priced rotary blades.

Baby Dragon & Becky 13 - Welcome to this wonderful group of ladies. This is one wonderful support group for just about anything! You can tell it like it is and no one says anything negative - always very positive. They have spurred me on as I wind down on piecing my Baby Jane that I started 13 years ago. She is nearly ready to start quilting. Elle is in Spain, Lesley is in Ireland. Patti is here in the US - we are all over the world, but they seem to be next door. All of us are here to help inany way we can to get you guys going on a Baby Jane - the official name for your personal version of the Jane Stickle quilt. At the very beginning (page 1) os this thread is a chart that lists each block & triangle and gives it a difficulty rating. If you are new, you might want to start with the easier ones and work your way on up. I only have the Dear Jane book, but there is also a CD which had more information and paper piecing foundations, etc. for making the quilt. Several of us are considering making another Baby. I am, but will definately get the CD for next time!

Good luck on your adventure here.
