If you drive by a Quilt Shop Do You Always Stop?

No. I have so many yards of fabric. I have no room for more! I only buy for specific projects now, and usually it's just backing, borders, and bindings. I make mostly srappy quilts and I have enough stash to make a few hundred of them!

We travel alot on the motorcycle in the summer and Hubby usually will stop if we see a shop. He knows space is limited, so I can't buy much. He hasn't figured out that most shops will mail the purchase...LOL

Absolutely. My husband once took a toll road (unknowingly) with no money so that I could go to a quilt shop. We threw the few quarters we did have in the change slot and drove away while the cameras snapped away. I watched for a fine in the mail for weeks but it didn't come in. Now when I find a quilt shop out of state, he insists that I double-check the route...like I don't!

Of COURSE, I have to stop! I'm in Hawaii on vacation even as we speak and will go to the quilt show on Kona (where we're staying) on Wednesday. EVERYTHING is so expensive in HI that I won't be tempted to buy anything!! Confession: I bought fabrics on line before I left for HI. But now I'm back to my resolution: USE WHAT I HAVE!! (Love the idea of routing driving trips through small towns though to go to quilt shops and visit with the locals--a lot more fun that Interstate driving!

I do a fair amount of traveling, and if I see a quilt or fabric shop, I either stop, or if I didn't see it in time, I will turn around. Some of my bestest fabrics have come from the LQS, rather than Joann's or Hancock's, where I do most of my shopping. Although I hate shopping for anything else, I do love looking at and touching all the fabrics on display. Usually one of my family members travels with me, and they all know that the trip will take a little longer than planned, if I see a quilt shop, LOL.
