When I lived in CA, people thought Northern CA was Sacramento, they didn't realize there was a lot more state. I lived about an hour south of Oregon.

Here in AZ, up in the mountains, we have 4 seasons. 3 hrs from Phx, but out of the heat.

I lived in Iowa for two years, in Iowa City. I drove to West Branch, Iowa every day to my job at the TV Station. The TV station was in the middle of a huge corn field. There was a grain elevator across the road from us. My allergies were bad while I lived there, when I moved back to Missouri, I felt healed. All I saw in Iowa were corn fields. I see a lot of corn fileds here in Southeast Missouri, too. But, I really liked Iowa. Very, very nice people, worked part time at Hobby Lobby and loved that, too. Customers would ask what part of the South I came from because of my accent. What accent? I thought we all sounded just alike.

I also get the impression that people think we are all rich. Not true, but certainly wish it was! LOL

I am from New York State orginally ... everytime I tell people that where I am orginally from .. I get the same thing , all they think about are tall buildings , lots of traffic , and rude behavior.
They are stunned when I tell them about mountains, finger lakes, agriculture.... Lots of poeple think its concrete from one end of the state to the other.
And I was from Western New York ... not upstate!

Well - I lived in upper state New York for eight years when I was much younger.....when I came back to Washington State for summer vacations...my friends in NY thought we still drove covered wagons and indians were about to attack...and my friends in WA thought that everyone in NY had nose rings and blue hair! They were shocked everytime I came back!

Our governors don't really make our license plates. In reality they get to go to a federal prison.
Most common misconception: Illinois has some honest politicians. We don't.
    You got that right!
