Having a tough day. We will probably be taking my dog, Nali girl, in tomorrow. She is 15 1/2 and has decided to quit eating. She only got out of her bed a couple of times yesterday and so far today, I have not seen her up. This will be hard. She is the last of the three we had for a long time. I was really hoping that she would make it until our son got home from deployment. He is due home around the 12th. But unless she has a dramatic turn around today, she will not. I can't let her starve to death.

Oh Gayle it is so hard to loose a pet. Saying a prayer for the poor furbaby. I have been the same weight for quite a while. I know what the problem is. No exercise and some poor food choices. I haven't gained either, but with no exercise my clothes don't fit as well. I need to get of my lazy butt and do something. Good luck to everyone. I love, love batiks. I had a hard time parting with the one I sent in. I have some batiks that I think aren't that pretty or my kind of colors but I still love them.

Dog to vet week? Gayle, my heart goes out to you as you make the final decision. I took Lily to her vet today. She has a strange lump on her head and another tiny one starting on her neck. Moira (other dog) is worried and Moira is usually oblivious to such things. The vet did a needle aspiration and couldn't determine if it is malignant or not. He could operate or we can do a wait and watch. If Lily were his, he'd wait, so I bowed to his expertise and didn't do anything for now. Lily is a large dog and will be 9 on New Year's Day. Is this the beginning of senior dog issues? Lily a senior?? She was reared up like a pony while waiting to go out this morning. Her weight is up. Do senior female canines gain weight like senior female humans?

We had 4 inches of snow on top of the ice today so walking should be better tonight. There was some freezing rain mixed in so we'll see.

My youngest daughter and a grandson came over and brought my Christmas boxes in so I will burn some calories decorating tonight and tomorrow.

I'm delighted! Still in this month even though can't win twice. I need to get this weight off. I'm having so much trouble with this arthritic knee, the less weight the better.

Gayle, I'm so sorry about Nali. It is very hard to lose a fur baby.

Wow - great going sandy! 13.2 lbs is great!

And sorry Gayle about your dog. Last month someone kicked our cat so hard we had to put him down. It was quite traumatic for me and my kids. 8( I rescued our cat snoopy and soon after our family experience a tragedy. snoopy was always a go-to when we were down. We miss him. 8'(

I did my monthly challenge exercises last night. I was pleasantly surprised with being able to do some of the exercises and pretty depressed with some others. But I figure I have to start somewhere. =D

I'm heading out for a morning walk. Have a great day.

I know how you feel about putting the baby down. We had to do that a couple of weeks ago. It was so hard. He was 15, just had his birthday in fact on the 22nd and we had to put him donw the 23rd. He was slow, then he lost control of his bowels so that was it. He could not stand to go and was so weak. Nothing they could do. we miss him so.

What you think of these for my Christmas table?

Aren't they just the cutest! the rick rack is from what I inherited from grandparents. It was priced at 14 cents and 19 cents. Two diffrent sizes, one just a tad larger. My dd says they should be part of the guest gift. I do not want to part with them. tell me ladies, need input her so I do not overdo, which I am so good at you know.
For the table gift for my guests, 10, I am making the muggy ruggy, snowball men, a snoball grinch, with a cup/mug, and some candy inside. Should I include the napkin as well or is overkill? Would appreciate input. I know, I can always make more napkins for myself, but I would have to go and buy fabric. Goodness me.

Nali died here at home, while I was petting and comforting her about 25 min before her appointment. She had been struggling to breathe and I heard a change in her and sat with her while she passed.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It will be hard. We have had dogs for over 25 years and now will be without one.

Gayle I'm so sorry to hear about Nali, but glad you were able to be there with her.
