That was because it was 50% off

I often have been able to get good prices for batting on O.com
    Formerly Overstock.com

Try a 175 mile +/- round trip to the closest JoAnns. Not fun when you are out and need it like NOW - I need to invest in a van to buy up in lots of it - it is sad how our local shops have gone under once Walmart drove them out of business... they will not return; yes, we paid more, but when you figure $3.50 a gallon for the gas to save with a 50% coupon at JoAnn's you are still in the hole after all is said and done - almost are forced to buy in huge quantities to make the trip count.

Don't you hate the way they are doing the coupons. Buy this week but then next week it is less and just for a few days--like I will drive 40 miles every day to use a coupon.

Being limited with funds, I go to thrift shops and buy light used mattress pads, and flannel sheets for batting. Was in local Joanns yesterday and shocked at batting prices, needed one yard of bright purple fabric for a Medallion quilt. Waited almost 45 minutes at check out. I doubt I will go back anytime soon.

Quilter's Dream batting is my favorite. Try Batt Mart online.

I have found that the coupons are almost never good for anything that I need. I did get to use a coupon awhile ago for 10 yards of W & N, so I'm set for awhile. It seems that whenever they have a good coupon, everything is on sale and you can't use the coupon. Another thing I think is the fabric prices are not so different from the LQS. I would rather pay a little more and get the quality of a LQS.

Have you tried Overstock.com? I was amazed at all the name brand sewing products they have, and I believe their shipping is only $2.95. I've bought several items from that site and always sastisfied with the quality etc. Will try them for sewing notions if I have a large enough order.

MaryJo's Cloth store in Gastonia NC has excellent prices and will ship to you. When I lived in NC, my sewing cronies and I would make a pilgrimage about 3 times a year and stock up. She has her private brand of Warm & Natural that is fabulous, and that is what most of us would buy. If you call, you can order anything in the store over the phone if you know what you want.

Normally I use the coupons from Hancock's or Joann's, or only shop when they have 50% off sales on batting. I have gotten good deals on the Fusi-Boo with coupons also.

Thanks everyone for the reminder about shipping from Overstock.com. 2.95 shipping is a lot less than a gallon of gas.

I usually buy all my Warm and Natural at Joanne's when I have a good coupon. The last really good one was 60% off this summer so I bought a whole bolt! Hopefully that will last me a while!
