I PM'ed her several days ago, and she wrote back to say she's been unable to find the book in her vast library. She apologized.

I asked her to please let us all know, if and when she came across it. We left it at that.

Note to quilting authors and publishers: There's a demand for books featuring tied quilts!!!

I do both hand tie and hand quilt. (my hand work is very simple too) it just depends on what the quilt is about. Childrens panels I shadow quilt. My flannel ones I tie. so it just depends on what the quilt tells you to do. smile...

Most people my late grandmother's age would call it a blanket if it were tied to differentiate it from an item that was quilted. If you want to call it a tied quilt, go for it. However, realize that you may confuse some people and that you can't enter it into most quilt shows unless there is a tied category.

My favorite tied quilt is on my bed right now.

I am going to tie a lap quilt I made for myself. I used the jelly roll race pattern using a winter themed fabric selection. I got some flannel for the backing. Now I am trying to decide to I want to use high loft batting or my usual warm and natural. I have not used high loft batting yet and I think it would work great with the ties and be puffy and warm!

I tie all flannel--and I love high loft batting with it--nothing is more soft and snuggly!

I don't know the name for sure. This sounds like a good bet to me.

I think this is it. The cover shows a tied quilt. I just ordered a used copy from amazon.

From looking inside the book at amazon.com, it's clear that not all the quilts are tied. BUT SOME ARE!

When you receive the book, Terry, will you please tell us what you think?

    Many thanks in advance.
