Those blocks are fantastic! I paper piece quite a bit, but never a large quilt yet. I also use lt wt interfacing, cause I detest the time it takes getting all the flying paper pieces out of the seams!
Am thinking about going to the kitchen and stirring up some home made ice cream, as our youngest daughter and her family are coming over this evening. Hubby brings the idea up quite often. He is willing to crush the ice that I freeze in gallon milk containers and tend it while it freezes. What flavor do you think? He always prefers vanilla, which is SO creative--so he can dump all the flavors on the top. Had a perfect day today.

Jillnjo - have you ever tried Big Red ice cream? Or is Big Red available where you live?

No, never heard of Big Red ice cream. Is it a mix to freeze in an electric freezer? What flavor would big red be, or is that the brand name?

Evening everyone! gorgeous day and as predicted I had a grand day. I finished PHEW this top for the round robin I am in it stumped me for about 2 weeks ughhh but it works and I am more than happy. even with all my errors. lol. I hope the one that comes to me next is ready for oh a busy round like.. stripes. lol. long ones not short ones double lol. I am ready for a breather! Tonight I start a doll quilt and I am in business again! yippee!

I have an extra swapper for my fq's so I will have even more fall fabrics to chose from in the swap. I am mailing mine on Monday who knows maybe hers will come fast too? yippppee. see it is my lucky day. that and we are having spaghetti meatball leftovers and salad so no labor what so ever. gives me even more sewing time.

I think the soil is very loamy here in Cody. Jans veggies are in heaven and with all the alfalfa fields and hay fields obviously they are growing something. water is key the wind drys things out I imagine rather well but we do get afternoon thunderstorms and often a bit of short hard rain to go with it. It truly pretty out here isn't it? God's country to be sure. What the heck show some more fabric peaks feel free, go ahead, no charge honest! POST em and we will respond!

Those paper pieced blocks are stunning. Why I love paper pieced blocks. Too bad I think they wont be in MY trick book any year soon. I should probably take something more basic first. I am more or less self taught with oodles of help here from the ladies. One class 14 yrs ago doth not make an expert.

Kidneys I am on the list in CA and going to try to get on the list out here also. I hope for one truly I do. I had a liver transplant last April so when all the goodies when on 'vacation' as I say they had hoped the transplant would get the kidneys going.. it didn't but I am alive. This is a gift. I am thankful and waiting patiently. even napping while I do it some days

Big Red is a variety of soda very popular in central Texas. I think it may be made by Dr Pepper. It is similar in taste to cream soda.

Yummo jillnjo, I can remember going to my grandmother's house when I was a child and she made the best home-made icecream ever - too bad she was a rude and grumpy lady who wouldn't let us kids into the house - but the twice yearly trips were bearable if we got the icecream

I just might pull out the stack of tablerunner/tabletopper patterns I have stashed away and break into one for this swap. I have so many patterns bought over the years which haven't even been opened let alone been stitched into anything worthwhile LOL

JuanitaBean, I use a non-iron vilene (that's what it is called here in Aus) and it is lightweight. I draw my paper piecing pattern onto the vilene, then piece as usual. Instead of tearing the paper out, I leave it in and quilt as normal. I have machine and hand quilted quilts done this way.
