I am on my third try for a doll quilt for you. The first I spent two weeks and many, many hours until I decided it was just too frustrating. So found some nice blue and yellow blocks I had made and thought maybe it would be a nice spring doll quilt. But now I am thinking something else after seeing such beautiful quilts here today. Well, I still have a few weeks so I better get started tonight.

oh those are so pretty! love the daffodils and crocus that come out at this time of year. truly spring has sprung. its 68 today darn right toasty! little breeze, my dh is working in a tank top. He is part American Indian so he browns so fast he is always asked if he is Mexican. Funny in the winter that boy is WHITE glow in the dark white. two weeks working he looks like he hits tanning booths. me? I glow white all year round. I cant go in the sun due to meds so I am truly goofy in my tanks. Unlke him I am not ready to go there yet lol.

I finished my wall hanging today! that is the good news. Bad news I forgot the hanger part and since I added beads any iddea how to add one now? I cant machine it or I might break the beads. argh. guess its a by hand. binding is not closed on the back yet thats a dialysis thing. wonder if I make a hanger could I stitch it under the binding? and gently tack the bottom half down? its not going to be that heavy so it will be able to hang by a dowl rod. help anyone???

Elisabrat, this is how I do my hangers most of the time even for bigger quilts and they always work fine. Go for it.

How 'bout add thos little circle thingies on the back instead of a hanger sleeve. Two - one in each corner will support it on two small nails in the wall...just a thought. And Linda, hugs and prayers for better health and a kidney.

Elisa..you can be lazy like me! I make the sleeve and then send it separate in case they don't hang their quilts. If they want to use the sleeve they have to sew it on themselves. It was done this way for me once and I thought it was a good idea...maybe, maybe not?

I finnished my April DQ quilt for Linnie25 and it turned out just like I wanted it. You will all need to wait to see it till Linnie25 has it in far away Tasmaniat(Australia). this is my first foreign swap partner and Linnie25 is the best. I am really enjoying getting to know her and learn more about that part of the world.

Some of you might know my second DD and her DH are missionaries in Africa. Their baby boy was finaly born, Sunday, after a very hard delivery but both mama and baby boy are doing well. She will need some extra time to heal.

If I do not post I am out of the area. My brother in law suffered a heart attack Sat. and has been on the brink of life multiple times and is on full life support. the outlook is not good. I am trying to find a way to go to my sister. He is 52 yrs old and was in perfect health, so this has been a shock. They have two sons the oldest is 20, married with a baby girl, and an 11 yr old boy. We appreciate prayers for him and the family.

I am trying to look at my swap commitments and see how many I can get out of the door before I am gone for an unknown time. I think I can get Linnie25's quilt out before I leave but there might be other swaps I can not get completed. So if anyone is wondering where I am or why I am not responding, please feel free to share with them this info. I will probably try and post this in some of those swap threads also or let my partners too.

Oh, my, that doll quilt should be the very least of your worries. My mother was on dialysis for 4 or 5 years and I know those days, rush off to the hospital, such a looong trip. So not fun, not from my perspective, I can only imagine from yours. I do pray that you find a kidney soon. I had one very scary experience with moms clogged shunt, thought I was in a movie. Yes, wasn't that ever so clever of me to splice out that little sliver of a view. Could you tell what it was? I actually have cut up my project in an attempt to get it put together. Does that make sense? In a nutshell, the things I do seldome make sense. I had a vision, then it turned, then it didn't fit, so I just keep plugging along. If I don't figure it out I'll just start over. So please don't be in a hurry to finish, remember we agreed to mail together!!

applique tomorrow today was a blow out day. went for dialysis they said your clotted going to the hospital asap so I spent a wonderful day in surgery at the hospital with an angioplasty AGAIN (twice this year already) I was so unimpressed. I just got home from the hospital a week ago so I was oh sonot anxious to go back. ARGH pirates. this is no fun. wanted: kidneys asap please. everyone say a prayer one shows up soon. in the mean time I am going to spend the next day off finishing applique and quilting my dq. only project on the menu for tomorrow so I should get really far on it finally. sorry for being so slow.
