Thanks everyone. I put it on our bed to get the photo and Mookie took a long nap on it. He can't even wait until it's quilted haha.
I'm happy with the result. I'm sewing my geese but still unsure if I'll use them. I probably will.

I'm trying to decide if I continue with Bonnie's orignial design or try the straigh setting of the blocks. I completed all the steps up to the reveal and I can't decide

quiltingweb, looking at a whole bunch of photos with the opposing options is always a big help to me. It could help you pinpoint what you like about the two different settings. If you're not on Facebook and can't access Bonnie's Open Studio page, you might try google images for Rhododendron Trail mystery.

Even if you are not on FB, you can still look at (but not post on) the Quiltville Open Studio group page. Start at the Quiltvilleville.com web page, then click on the link to the group.

Ooof! That's the sound I made when I sat down for this coffee break. I have all my rows completed and am starting to put them together.

One of the downsides of diagonally set quilts is how long a couple of those seams are... there is still lots and lots of pinning ahead of me but maybe I can get a picture of the top (minus borders) either tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm glad I trimmed and stay stitched my setting triangle units before putting together -- I think dealing with the raggedy edge would make me ignore the project for a week or two more.

Thanks, SuzSLO, that is good to know!

All right! I have finished my B blocks, on to the As. I am tentatively thinking my butterflies will all fly east.

I'm just loving everyone's choices. I think a lot can be done with the "butterflies".

I still have the borders to go -- but at last, I have my top together!

Edit: Ugh, poor picture quality but I already put the pillows back on the bed will get a beauty shot at hubby's work in a couple of days after the borders are done.
