I'm glad I put oil in them!

The only Brothers I own are the Deluxe Selecto, 210 Selecto, Deluxe Atlas, Atlas Straight, and the Streamliner. I haven't done a side-by-side comparison but the insides I've examined use what appears to have come from the same parts bins. I had a chance to buy a mint turquoise Deluxe Wizard zig-zag and passed because it was just a 210 clone.

The Deluxe Selecto is a really smooth machine. That was an eBay purchase.

Many, if not most of Brothers machines from about 1956 through the mid to late 60s were pretty much identical in mechanics. Color and fiddly parts changed but the heart of the machines stayed pretty much the same. That's what makes it hard for me to hone the parameters of how I want to build my collection.

Cari, by the time you get all the machines lined up for transport, you're going to need a semi-trailer to haul them in

Don't I know it. But I will be coming home a lot lighter.

Let's see, I have a clone, 3 Prestiges, 2 Rivieras, a 280, a Flairmatic, a Mademoiselle, a Home Mark, the Pacesetter, the 210, a Project 651, the Cambridge and I'm sure there's one or two more I can't remember.

Ha! I just happened to look as I was putting my 210 back into a cabinet and the motor is a 1.5 amp. I don't think it's the original motor though. it's different than the motors on my other Brothers. Power!

I didn't mean for you to give it to her. I was just saying.

Oh no, I'm not giving that one away. I've never seen another one that color anywhere. I just want to show it to you in person. The thing is, I seem to be bringing all my best goodies this first time, I may not have anything good to bring next time!

Nice herd of Brother machines. I'll bet you've had fun collecting them. I recently saw a Galaxie that was very cool -- shopgoodwill.com?

And 1.5 amps? Nice! Yes, that's quite a bit of power!

I'm curious as to how amperage affects speed (stitches per minute). Anyone have the differential equation on hand?
