I know you can date Singers by their serial numbers but can you tell the model number just by the serial number?

Thanks,
Nancy

No records online for that one but it was made in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada bin 1936.

Billy, this might seem like a ridiculous question but I thought that some place I read about someone taking two vintage machines and making the right cuts, etc. to make a longarm machine out of it. Have you ever heard of that? Or, would you recommend someone who wants to play around with two machines to make a make-shift longarm?

Hi everyone! Look what I brought home last Friday. $35.00, cabinet is almost perfect, machine is perfect, lots of attachments and the original book. Not bad for a Friday the 13th deal.

Wow Charlee, that 15 looks like a new machine and all you did was TR-3? The cabinet in amazing too! It looks like you re-did the cabinet - sanding and all, but you got that look with Howard's restore a finish? No sanding? Amazing!

Wow beautiful!

Nancy

Not a lick of sanding at all!! :) I'm lazy...if I don't have to do a tear down and kerosene bath, then I won't...and I didn't have to! :D TR-3 did the trick!

Ok , I have just gotten this 1924 Singer 99. She needs some work... belt, light cord replaced, electric cord with foot pedal! I wonder if there are electric cords/foot pedals with the three prong plug that is enterchangable with the 99?? Maybe someone could let me know via a pm. I also need manuals for her too. :) Thanks for any help.

I forgot to mention, I got her for $11.50. But she needs work!

Sharon
