I don't have to keep picking up 40 pounds of machine to use on the table.

maybe i should rethink and try a white rotary. I heard so much good things about white rotary from forum members.

As someone who lives in Australia, if I saw that I'd be looking for small black spiders.

Seriously. I didn't know that. Is that crazily dangerous? Do I need to spray it with insect spray ? Now that got me worried.

Is it actual cotton? I've never, ever seen cotton balls in a machine, but plenty of things that looked like what you have there, particularly in cabinets. They've always been spider nests and had small black ones inside or nearby.
I don't bother with spray but I do have a phobia and treat them with a little caution (have a shoe ready)

it's like an actual cotton balls but i didn't bother checking it. i just put it in a plastic bag and trashed it. hopefully there's nothing more left inside my machine.

What a nice lady. If you play the lottery, and win, you could share a percentage with her. Would love to find a treadle in any condition. Learned to sew on my mother's White treadle, but it somehow got lost when they moved into their new home back in 1956. Loved it.
