Anael ... another great finished project for you! I've looked at that fabric before, and didn't know what I'd do with it but have never seen it in charms. Perfect way to get the assortment. Don't know about your pattern/book you;re looking for ... perhaps QNSue in her HUGE resource library might have it? Yes, spray basting is expensive, but oh so worth it. Though it doesn't really take a lot ... most of us use more than necessary. At least I am sure I do! I'm SEW happy for you that you are back to your Ode to Mom!

MiraB ... would it be the batik that's causing the problems? Tough stuff to go thru. Maybe a different needle? I'm sure you ARE succeeding ... remember we are our own worse critic!

JanRN ... sure, put us to shame with cleaning/organizing your sewing area! gggrrrrrrr!!!!! 'With all that beige tonal, would it work for the Mariners Compass pattern? I think we all have our slang ... and don't realize it's any different. Besides, isn;t it the other people who talk funny? not us? Still laughing at dust elephants!! .... thanks for identifying my critters!

GGal ... look forward to seeing some WIP pics of your MiraB project! WAs the pattern on that site? If so, I couldn't find it. Sorry, but I don't visualize well with word pics!

JanieW ... I have Nancy Halvorsen;s lost sheep!!!! and have made the quilt!!!!! BONUS ... It's Easy-Peasy too! Check this out ... and email me!

OKSGlad ... Sew Glad to see you back with us for a bit! You mean Bernina's have coronaries? Not fun when you can;t use your favourite machine. I'm sure your Janome will give you the perfect seam ... though you may need to move the needle. On both of my J's I've had to reposition it to accomplish that.

JeanieG ... Hope your DGD come along fine and can gon on home soon!

Oh such a good feeling to get out in the sunshine today. Spent a strong 6 hours outside and will soon draw a hot bath for a good soaking. Body feels like it's going to need it. I managed to get some of the gravel deposited from snow removal off the lawn. Then made a flower bed around the LP gas tank. First layered some cardboard, then a ring of lime rock--heaven knows there's enough of that around here. Was able to toss some dirt in the bed, too. It's only about 18" deep. Plan on filling it with daylilies which are pretty low maintenance. Think I'll put some nasturtiums around the front this year to fill in the spaces of the new plantings.
Here's a pic of my finished baby hexi flimsy. Plan to applique it to a solid border. Auditioned it next to a yellow and a muslin--yuk! Do you think white will work? Pic is just on top of my sofa cushion.
Okay, "Calgon take me away......" I can feel lots of unused muscles tonight.

QuiltE I think the Batik was the problem, the thread was really really tight over the batik then relaxed over the cotton, so I am unpicking what I started and have gone with 2 threads.

I have included photos for you all to have a look at and tell me what you think, I am not feeling the love at the moment. I may have to stitch in the ditch in the seam line so hold it down between the different colour threads.

But on a brighter note, look what the postie delivered to me this morning, nice big parcel and inside is my Pony Club Quilt. Will take a lot of pics later today and show you my quilt that is finally finished oh well except for the binding anyway and that might take me a few nights to stitch.

Hi Everyone, Waited all nite at BINGO...didn't win ....

Ok, I think I would like a grass green for your flimsy.. it would look like flowers in the grass...Funny thing about aches and pains...I don't have to do gardening to feel the way you do!!!

Please explain "Mirabelle Fabric"...I must have missed it???

I plan on a small trip to Wilmington,NC just to check out a few quilt shops...I'm going alone so I'll be taking the GPS...first to Sam's Club then the LQS... Dh is playing golf...Wish me luck...

Mirabelle, I like the 2 threads..is it really necessary to stitch the seam lines? I would only do that if it doesn't lay flat after doing all the quilting...

OKSGlad ... A busy day, and I hope you do no suffer from your over-ambition! No need to worry about playing in the dirt here yet. Your GFG must have put you in th gardening mood. I'm thinking if you did not like yellow or muslin, then the white will be disappointing too. What about a mid-blue?

MiraB ... oh how exciting to receive your PC ... nothing like teasing us, YET AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Despite all your thread woes, the quilting design is wonderful. Gives a nice movement to the quilt, kind of like the flowers are blowing in the breeze. ITA with Honchey about the SITD for the blocks, unless necessary. I think it would give a choppy look to the quilt, rather than framing them up.

Honchey ... oh how disappointing at BINGO! Is your Little FART tmro? GGal found the MiraB fabric and already has started cutting and stitching.

Good Night Ladies!

OK--cute hexies. What size? I missed it if you told us. Take it easy tomorrow...I know the sunshine is tempting though.

Mirabelle--I think your two threads looks nice. Good that you found a way for it to work without breaking needles!!

Oh to be able to quilt like you do Mirabelle! I think it looks great with the two colors, too. Can't wait to see your PC Quilt!
