Hi, I'm getting to PO Wed am to mail my FQ. I got on the scale today and was shocked to see I've lost 5# 1st week. Just stopped eating between meals, quit using butter & stepped up the water. I made a chili with beans & 1/2# hamburger. Got 10 servings so froze some. Feels good to eat more veggies and lots of celery & tomatoes went into the chili. Being on the challenge is really helping. Now, I've got to get into more physical activity. Today I wasn't feeling well so stayed home but I'm planning on working out Wed. Feels good to be eating better.
Oh, I learned I've got a new grand nephew and all is well for mom and her boy. My brother is now a grandpa and he is overjoyed. He is totally into being a good dad and I look forward to seeing how he evolves as grandpa. He called about the baby shower his sisters are having in March - so we can all hold the baby - and he wants to be included. I love it!

Ladies, We put the house on the market last week & it has sold already! I am in major panic because we have no place to go. We need to find a rental or ready to move in home ASAP. So I need to start packing & looking. This is after we tried last year for 9 months to sell, now it sold in 9 days!!!! Oh and we are moving from Ga to Fl...just to keep it interesting. So send good energy, thoughts and major prayers my way please! Needless to say I may not be posting often.

I just got the results from the doctor and my cholestrol is high, blood pressure is high and the kidneys are looking worse. So I have to stop all anti-inflammatories, I don't know how I am going to handle that - I have arthritis in several joints. It hurts to walk all the time, but without the pills, I'm not sure what will happen. I need to exercise and lose weight (isn't that the answer to most things?). Since it hurts to walk and stand, exercising is difficult (I find it easy to make an excuse, but I know I can do some thing).

I know it is good to drink water, does anyone know how much it should be? I have problems with my eyes, so using the computer and sewing (the two things I love to do) are difficult, forgive me if I miss something and ask a question again or things like that.

Once again, thanks for the encouragement.

A doctor I saw some time ago told me I need to drink 1/2 my weight in ounces, this is to help flush out the junk and regulate your system. You do adjust and get use to drinking that much water. I try to drink 100 ozs each day, doesnt always happen but that is my goal. I did make 72 ozs today while at work. I am staying away from soda.

It is ok to ask the same questions over. Sometimes it takes several times some times to get things thru my thick brain. LOL

Chill ask the doctor for something else for the arthritis, my mom has severe arthritis and she is on cymbalta with good results in her pain level.

    Keep up your hard work.

Cindy - I mailed the FQ Saturday. I'm working on increasing water intake. For some reason, I just forgot about all the water I drank while on WW (trips to the bathroom are increasing...LOL). Saturday we cleaned out the fitness area in our house. Now all the Christmas decorations are off the treadmill and I can use it and my stationary bike. I've worked out 20 min. per day for the last 3 days. My scale has dropped 2 #'s. Yeaaaahhhh!

Okay, I just put my FQ out front to be picked up by the postman today. I've carried it around for 2 days just kept forgetting to mail it.

FQ went in the mail yesterday.

I would like lots of ideas for something to eat, both meals and snacks - thanks ahead of time. Is there something in past threads I can look for?

Good luck on moving to FL. and finding a place to live. I lived in Florida for a year, it was very interesting.

My 9th grandchild is due in 3 weeks (hopefully sooner). I'm really excited for this one to come, my younger daughter's first. She has been excercising in the water with me 3 days a week. I need to continue on my own once she has the baby. I figure if I write it down here and share it with you all, it would help me to commit to excercise and really follow through.

Water - how do you get that much water? Do you carry a bottle everywhere you go? It would be good to have a faucet at the computer and the sewing machine LOL.

WHAT IS HARDER THAN LOSING WEIGHT????

I know! Selecting a FQ to mail!

Looking through my stash it feels impossible. Fabrics that I dearly love (batiks) others may think are awful. I have a very few prints and most of those are asian designs, again not a style for everyone....Colors, no help there, it looks like a rainbow here...

So, I try to imagine, what will someone do with a single fat quarter. Hmmm, hard to say.

So, fess up. What is YOUR favorite style/color/theme of fabric? How do you select something to send?

Connie I just choose one that I had 2 of and was a flowery spring kinda print. If the winner doesn't need or want it they can send on to another winner later.Everyone sounds so helpful and encouraging. It's a good thread to follow. I have lost 2 lbs so far this month.I'm so happy 86 to go.Thanks everybody for your help. Mary

Had looked forward to weighing this morning to see if I had gone down past that 0, but the battery on the scale died. I was so frustrated. The one morning I jump out of bed to weigh. Oh well, guess I will have to wait and just be good until I get a new battery. Noticed in the food flyers that came out today that eggplant was on sale. How it that for coinsidence. Have a great day.
