Nancy/Bojangles,
The cups under the machine are for oil cans, there's several Pfaff treadles at the local Pfaff dealer. I've been drooling over them for several years now. I might just have to see if he won't sell one of them to me.

Chrysantheme is the German chrysanthemum... "Chrys" for short?

Nancy,
The Germans may have used the chrysanthemum decals in honor of the legend (another speculation from me).
Here is the Legend of the Chrysanthemum.
One cold, snowy Christmas Eve in Germany's Black Forest, a peasant family was sitting down to a meager supper when they heard a wailing. At first they thought it was the wind. But upon hearing the sound repeatedly, they opened the door and found a beggar. They ushered in the poor man who was blue with cold, wrapped him in blankets, and shared their food.
Instantly, the blankets were shed, revealing a man in shining white clothing with a halo around his head. Proclaiming himself the Christ Child he fled. The next morning, outside the door where he had stood, were two white chrysanthemums. Today, many Germans bring white chrysanthemums into their homes on Christmas Eve, believing that by doing so they are sheltering the Christ Child.

Kathie, did you see them? I couldn't get the whole photo so I deleted the post! That was Mowgli and Simba. Mowgli is a registered Chihuahua, but he is what I call a 'tweener.' His dad was a long-haired Chihuahua and his mom is a short haired Chihuahua, hence he is neither! He weighs 4lbs and you can't see it, but his left back leg is never on the ground - always held up. Here is the photo again! Poor little guy doesn't know what he is in for today!
