No power here this morning...thankful for the generator. More rain expected, record flooding north of us so the river by us will be coming up. "They" are saying crest will be higher than in 2008.

Need to finish getting ready, but had to check in and wanted to share my newest MB and all 4...thanks again Honchey!

Hope all have a great day.

DD...your quilt is STUNNING. You pulled of the simpler color scheme with class. I really like it.
Carrie....we had rain last night but still have power this morning.
Mirabelle...ouch....sounds like your shoulder is really painful. I hope it doesn't require surgery. I'm hearing more and more about women if our age having rotor cuff surgery. The latest one is minding her Dr/PT well and is recovering nicely but didn't sew for a few weeks.
Honchey...very nice MB for Carrie. Hope you're feeling better.
OK....leave Ileane at home so you can enjoy your trip. I'm sure that would be your hope.
QNS...very nice blocks for Janie. So thoughtful of you.

I hoe it is nothing serious GGal as not sewing for a few weeks would drive me stir crazy and really I am crazy enough

Am a happy girl tonight, Queensland won the second game in our State of Origin contest, that makes it one each with New South Wales, and the deciding game being played in 3 weeks....Queensland have won the series for the last 7 years so we are going for 8 in a row. Goodnight everyone, will chat to you all tomorrow..

MiraB ... You haven't convinced me that you hadn't seen those roses!!! lalalalalala .......... DD is no fool, she chose those roses Just For YOU, so that you'd race right into them Just for HER!!! Me-thinks she learned well at the hand of the Mistress! Yeaaaaaaaaa Queensland ... they sure space out the games .. and agony for the fans! Go Team Go!!!!!! Better stop the embroidery then, and go back to petting fabrics. Also, am thinking if the Dr. wants to see you you'd better see her/him sooner, rather than later, unless s/he says to wait for the ultrasound ... and fess up for your sins, while you are at it. Just tell him/her that you HAVE TO sew, that is, unless s/he wants a mental patient as well!!!!!!! Surely s/he'll understand? Tell her/him you'll pay them with a quilt!!!!

OKSGlad ... Time to tell Ileane that she is NOT welcome in Guernsey and she can go packing in the opposite direction!! So, are you going to go to the MD? or go obliviously on your trip? Maybe more important you get some good muscle relaxers and/or anti-inflammatories to get you thru the trip? How's MrOKSGlad's back doing? Hope that while you are dashing around with the final To Do's you have some time to enjoy your DS/DSDGF and give her the final words of wisdom on being Acting Farm Wife in Residence!

CarrieM and Honchey ... Rolling, Rolling, Rolling ..........look at how that foursome is rolling along in perfect harmony!

........... and now, onwards to another hot and steamy day ... UGH!

Whoopee!!!! wait till you see what I got today!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just so amazed by the creativity of you guys and the beautiful sewing and I could go on & on but why waste time talking...Here's my MB that Mirabelle did indeed make for me..."ROSES" yes, I said "ROSES" I got the "ROSES" from Mirabelle in a block called "Precious Pieces" and this one is also hand appliqued using YLI silk thread...and it is beautiful and it will go so well with the other gorgeous blocks....I have to leave now so I can go look at it some more...

Honchey and MiraBelle ... Stunning, beyond words! And what a foursome that is created!

Roses? MiraB does roses? Imagine that!!!!

Remember?? ... how I got tired of doing practice things, and needed something for "real"? Honestly, I do better when it's for real ... pay more attention, come up with a plan, and try to follow it. When it's only practice, I scribble too much. The printed fabric was some I bought a couple of years ago for placemats as it matched my dining room so well. Never got to it, so instead, one big placemat about 38" square that can be a table topper or can take it to the corner for dinner for two on one mat!

I used the print design somewhat as my guide ... followed the vine in the faux-sashing for a "s" type diagonal grid line. Then did feathers, over the print, using the print to help centre and spread out from. Outside setting triangle border area got a stipple.

I've got a long way to go ... though I'm happy for my first "real" attempt with my new machine.

Thanks Honchey ... about both. I wish I had more of those flowers ... they do show pretty nice while blooming and if I keep them dead headed, I can extend their show. I know I have a long way to go to getting the FMQ right! I'd be doing fine with this, and then all of a sudden I'd wobble all over or miss where I was supposed to be.

Honchey and Mirabelle, that block is just absolutely AMAZING! I just love it!

QuiltE - that quiting is wonderful. Just right for the area, great job!!! I still have to work with lines drawn on the quilt. Don't have the nerve to try anything free hand! Maybe someday!!!

We had bad storms all night and they're approaching now; my internet is hit or miss so I'll keep this short.

DD-your quilt is beautiful. Using the light sashing gives it a whole different feel. Great job.

All the MB's are awesome. The groupings look so good and the quilts are going to be fantastic.

QE-like what you did and how you did it. Good idea using the fabric as your guide. Wow-I'm impressed!!!

Thunder & lightening--I'm off; hope to talk more later.

I got so much ta do taday.
QE-your first "real" FMQ is great.

I did finish ____________'s MB last night & I mailed it taday. I even paid extra for it ta git there sooner. Gotta change the laundry & then head ta another store. At 105* F I really don't want ta go out there again. It's supposed ta reach 107* in the next few hours. Hmmm maybe I'll just take a nap, & go tamarrow. It's only supposed ta reach 102* tamarrow. It's humid too. The Humidity level is 50% & we are used ta 5%. Yup I'm gonna take a nap. I was up till 4:00 am. 2 hours after I finished that block. My brain just kept quiltin'. LOL

Mirabelle did herself proud on your block, Honchey.. Beautiful...now show us all four, Honchey, please, pretty please.

QuiltE, you did an excellent job in my eyes.

Stilll 'waiting on my MB, but I know it will be worth the wait....wait.....wait. Come on, Post Office, get it delivered!!

Janie, would love to see all four of your MBs too; this moments of senior I-forgot-what-her-other-MBs-looked-like are growing as our numbers of MB are growing.

It clouded up like rain this morning, but just had a few drops along the way. Yes, dh is suffering short term memory blocks, and this morning he forgot to let the little ducks out; I did check on it before we left, so they did get let out to water and food.

Store owner, Vicki, was very nice, ordered up the Quilter's Dream Horn table for the Bernina 550 (took back the school desk), and will fix the legs on the cabinet for the old 1530, and sent back with me the one for the embroidery machine that does fit right and is put together right.

Dh felt pretty good today and drove halfway up and about halfway home, so that really helped me out on the driving, to rest a bit. Have a good evening everyone; hope your storms will pass on through without any damages. Lucky Carrie has her generator and beautiful MBs.

Meet you all in the Virtual RV, so I can 'pet' all those wonderful MBs!! Its really remarkable how they each fit in with the others!! Lots of good 'Eye' candy!!!

Tomorrow, I set up my new Embroidery sewing table and machine and start on the 'guitar', one on each of the 120 blocks. I had Vick make a 'shadow' on one side to give it more depth in the picture. I have light, medium and a dark blue to use on it, but each one takes just two colors. Will do a sample first, using the light/dark contrast and see how that looks.

Have to 're-think' how I am going to do the placemats; not satisfied with them. According to the QB lady, Mary, I need the tension set at seven to nine...thought she had said no tension at all , but different story today, so will try that. To thread the Mono thread without seeing the thread itself too well is a real task in its self.

Isn't wonderful that tomorrow will be a NEW day? We are blessed.

Thanks everyone! for all your positive feedback.
Today I bought a "wing needle" to make stencils plus a pounce pad to put those stencil marks on.

JeanieG ... I chalked the first few feathers on, then decided, oh heck, go for it. The design worked nicely for me to follow part of the design like SITD (without a ditch) and used the markings of the print to give me a guideline as to where to stitch.

JanRN ... I am lusting over your high clearance and great visibility of the S16. Oh how I wish I had a sugar daddy to just say, oh here is one!

DublB ... our humidity is at 83% and only 20% POP! So I think our humidex is working out pretty much on par with your temps. And no A/C for me!

QNSue ... great news on your cabinets. I googled Horn, but see there is more than one Quilter's Dream. Which are you getting? You're going to have everything so nicely organized now with all your machines and tables. You're better than me ... I refuse to use monofilament! I have used coloured 100 wt, which comes close, but at least I can SEE it!

Karen--that MB for Honchey is very pretty.

QNS--your blocks for Janie are nice too...she has options as both match.

    Janie--glad you are safe.

QE--great "first real" FMQ. Good idea to use "cheater" fabric to follow. I will have to keep that in mind when I am ready to do FMQ.

Jan--hope you made it through the storms ok. We've had our share the last couple weeks.

Bev--hope you got a good nap and are staying cool. Our temps aren't that hot (high 80s, low-mid 90s), but we always have high humidity during the summer.

Power came back on a little before 8. We went without power a few winters back for 18 hours due to ice on the lines all over the place...after that we got a generator. We were very thankful we heat with wood! The power goes out randomly around here for a couple hours at a time so it has been nice to have.

The river near us is still coming up. They cancelled the "grand stand" events and rides at our county fair due to flooding. The 4-H buildings/exhibits are uphill a little more so as of right now they are still on...judging was today on projects. Some of the animal shows will be moved to another county's fairgrounds. It is too bad as this is the 125th Anniversary so they had some big stuff planned. I know someone who had her quilt in the open show and she said today they were telling people to take things home...the "rules" state "projects are to stay until July 1st" so they really must not expect many to come through other than those there for 4-H.

Just two more days of taking DD to driver's ed classes. She drove her last time this afternoon. Next week DH is taking a week of vacation and the week after that is Day Camp at our church (like Vacation Bible School). Then I will be able to get back into a regular routine at home!!

Deranged_Damsel—Loved your Pony Club Quilt. It is simply fascinating to look at and your color choices are
    amazing!

QuiltE—I really enjoyed seeing your quilt again and especially the close-ups. You are so creative!

No new quilt yet, but lots of ideas. Maybe someday. Thanks for asking.

Really bad flooding and mudslides about 50 miles from my home. My FedEx courier husband has been attempting to deliver in those areas. You really feel sorry for the family and businesses that are cleaning out or still underwater. It's hard to believe that we were in a drought last year!

Thanks for all of the encouragement about the pain I am experiencing and the acupuncture option. Sad to say that the nurse who advised me to try it, didn't realize that my insurance company won't cover it. Chiropractor--yes; Chriropractor who does acupuncture—no. Oh, well that's the way it goes...back to square one.

Laurie--dry needling is done by a MD. My insurance does cover it, but won't cover acupuncture...worth checking with your doctor to see if there is someone in the area who does it....they can send codes to your ins. to see if it would be covered or not.

CarrieM ... it really wasn't a cheater fabric, I just reated it that way. There is some nice cheater stuff around! I actually have a Halloween one that might surface one of these times and use it to play and practice. How disappointing for your Fair. I'm sure they wanted the quilts out of the way, just in case things got worse ... too valuable to keep them for the risk it'd be. So ... what did you enter? I'm sure after Alberta's disaster, many communities are being overly cautious.

MercysLand .. thank you! I really wasn't too creative as my add-in blocks were patterns I found online or from friends. So please do tell use what the new ideas are!!! Are you working on a quilting project for yourself right now?

I'm back spent the day at my LQS quilting Smith Mountain Morning and now I am really really tired, left home at 7am this morning, got to the shop at 9am, the traffic was murder, left at 3pm and got home at 4.30 and all the way home I had a Police car in front of me and one behind me so I couldn't speed and get home sooner

Carriem what a beautiful set of blocks, hope you are safe from the floods, being without power brings back memories of Cyclone Yasi when we were without power for 10 days, the power pole outside our house was destroyed. DH bought a huge super duper generator after that and we have it wired into the house..no more power outages for us.

QuiltE I was thinking of working like a possessed woman until I see the Doc on the 9th just in case he tells me bad news and I can't quilt anymore. If I rub Deep Heat into my shoulder it does give me some relief.. If I work like a woman possessed does that mean I am already a candidate for the funny farm?? Love your table topper, the quilting is great, love the fabric, just perfect

Honchey I am so happy you liked the block, I did have a few moments where I was going to make a pieced block but this kept telling me to just go with it.

JanRN hope you stay safe with the storms around you

I am off to bed, busy day tomorrow, have to drive DS to Doctors appointment, then take him grocery shopping, them come home and sew sew sew sew sew

Mercysland, we live in a small community and have a wonderful chiro (Dr. Hammett) who does the 'adjustments" & acupuncture for $39 a treatment (each treatment is an hour long) and is good...people come for hundreds of miles to see him. His wife does the acupuncture and was trained for it, she also serves as his gal 'Friday' doing the office work, bookkeeping (excellent job), nurse, etc., anything else the he desires her to do. She sings professionally after hours, doing 'jigs' around the area. I do not agree with the diet supplements that he recommends to dh, nor the purchase of them, but dh is determined to do so and he is much better, so what can I say???

Hope I get to set up and embroidery couple of blocks for show before the end of the day...time will tell. Everyone have a good day....I am going to the virtual RV and 'pet' a few MBs for fun.
