Get a second opinion. My sewing friend had a bladder tack. It was not good. The doctor stitched the bladder to her intestion. lots of discomfort. got that repaired then got a mild infection, got the cleared up. Now she still wears a pad. She said she would never do that again, she is a retired nurse.
Hope all goes well for you.
The stitches makes this a sewing subject.

Sounds like there might be some cutting involved, too.

I never had the problem however..........Get a thigh master and exercise with that it WORKS no more dinkling down your leg. I told my aunt to use it for a month and then decide it she needed the surgery, she didn't need surgery.

Thanks so much for the responses. Gonna dig out the info the doc gave me for the exercises. He said it women need to do if for 90 days to see if that will help. Just hate wearing the pads 24/7, too. Tried the drug years ago but got such a bad dry mouth and constipation...what does that tell ya. Just don't want a long recovery. Care giver for invalid which involves moving Mom from side to side but no lifting. We know what that will cause.

The exercises help if it is a muscular problem. If it is not, then all the kegel exercises in the world are not going to fix it. I have a kegel exerciser and used it for years. When my pelvic floor tore and my bladder was in my vagina, all the exercises in the world were not going to fix it.

The tests that they did before hand gave my doc a pretty good idea of what was going on before I chose to have surgery. While I agree that many incontinence problems can be handled by exercise, it's a mistake to say that they all can. You need a doctor and if you are unsure- a second opinion. No one should have a surgery if they don't absolutely need to- it's no fun. But if you do need it, then feeling bad about not fixing it with exercise is just silly.
