Get a male. In my experience they are friendlier to more than one person while the females are usually just a one person cat and only of their choosing.

Obviously you have NEVER slept with a cat and a husband in the same bed! lol
I could probably have more room in my bed if I had Rosie in there with me lmao

No, Sweetie, you are not crazy. I am in tears thinking of my Dulcie, and she has been gone since 1985. I think all of us who love animals have had a "Rusty" or a "Dulcie". And, you know that doesn't stop you from loving the ones that come after.

GO FOR IT!!!! When Bob Leno was being such a butt and riding Tuffy, I knew I needed to get a kitten for my kitten! LOL. Petsmart has pet adoption days (from the pound), and they had a room full of cats. BOY, was it a hard choice! I didn't chose the youngest, and I didn't chose the prettiest, but I chose the best! Bing is a major lover, and EVERY DAY he loves on me as if to say "Thank you for giving me a forever home!". The paperwork was minimal, there was no waiting period, I just filled out one page, wrote the check and away we went. He was already microchipped and neutered. It was the best $75.00 I've ever spent.

So, when you get home, give the two a month at least to adjust before you get another one, and then post lots of pix. And who knows, you may not even need to go to the Humane Society or the Pound. Remember our family motto:

God is great, God is good,
God knows the suckers in the neighborhood!

My husband has even said that he is not going to leave me any money then he departs this mortal coil, because I'll just end up like the "Crazy Cat Lady" on the Simpsons. I say adopt! You can never have too much kitty love!
I love it DianD. I got my mom a plaque that says "In this house, Cat Hair is a Condiment!"
