Other than a couple of exchanges and "helping" my son spend his Christmas cash (and mine of course) there was no "just for the sake of shopping" shopping.

I do this for my teenage grandchildren. They seem to love it.

I know a number of families doing this... the kids got a few stocking stuffers and one gift from "santa" Christmas morning. The parents went shopping the 26th, wrapped the gifts and the kids opened them morning of the 27th :D:D:D

I do not like to shop at all so after Christmas I avoid Stores like the plague. I still have wrapping paper from 5 yrs ago when a Store had it marked down to 70% off. I just do not Shop much anymore being an empty nester. Saves money. LOL

I have 6 family birthdays right after Christmas so good time to buy birthday gifts that I would buy anyway. The only other time I shop after Christmas sales is when I get a gift certificate and want to maximize my "free purchase"!

I get money once a month, the third Wednesday of the month, so by the time I do get the money, the sales are over! which sometime I see something I'd like to get/have and can't cause no money so I just leave it.

I had 0 before christmas and 0 after christmas. Didn't get an increase in my SS last year and not getting one this year. My husband had to give up raises for 3 years to keep his job. So for the second year we have only each other and I'm grateful. I do have a roof over my head, and lots of pasta. Quilting fabric made from dismantled old clothes and sheets. I am lucky, I am loved. I am warm, and I have enough to eat. Yes, I am a wealthy woman.

I hate shopping and only do when needed. I have to really need/want something to go to the mall after christmas.

Well I don't have a husband but I am still wealthy, no increase, so do I eat or do I get medicines. , I (PTL!) do have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food in my cupboard, a car to go , a bit of gas money too.

Learning to be frugal. like you, tearing up old clothes , sheets, and asking relatives for old clothes and rags, for quilts as well.

So yes I am rich,
