I definately agree. How do I go about emailing Konstin. Who is this person and how do I get in touch with them? I am too new to know who everyone is, but I am trying. Love to read post. Love to ME as well as quilt.

I just got the Viking Ruby and I love it. For Christmas I did free standing lace ornaments and a stained glass nativity scene and I just downloaded a bunch more designs for Valentines Day and Easter and my GD 1st Bday. I have some ideas in the works also to make the kids an alphabet quilt along with some other things. I move my machine to the dinning room when I do this since there is a lot of stop n go with changing thread color. I'm very new and still learning. This Mon we are learning to make a zippered coin purse at our monthly embroidery club that I got free when I got my machine. I'm also taking my stuff in so that she can teach me to do the cutwork on the embroidery machine; it's alot more difficult on a regular machine. Which is a block on another quilt that I've done.

for what it is worth...everyone!!!!
I did email Konstin about having a sub forum for ME...
He said it would happen if we had enough interest...
So...Email him and let hin and the mods know we would lilke a sub forum for Machine Embroidery...
If you would like to...I would rather have someone here answer my questions than someone from another place do it!

I add machine embroidery to most of my quilted wallhangings and table toppers. I love machine embroidery and love adding it to my quilting projects.
My machines are in my signature line. I don't know what I would do without either one of them, and yes I do use both of them to embroider, many times at the same time!! I am having too much fun!! giggle giggle
You can add me to the list of those embroidering on toilet paper! giggle Also add embroidery to candles!!

Hi,
Although quilting is my main passion, I also machine embroider. I just did the usual holiday towels, occasional denim shirt design, and a few table runners.
However, I am finding that many embroidery deisgns are appealing to me and I could really have fun doing quilts with embroidered squares. And can also embroider quilting designs on quilts instead of free motion quilting or having a long arm quilter do it. I think I am getting hooked!
I would love to hear from others who also machine embroider.

I totally agree with cutebuns...the freebie designs can be a big heartache if you don't test them first. I trust all the BIG sites like Embroidery Library, Designs by JuJu, Molly Mine etc etc that generously give out designs to try. I haven't had issues with the 'well known', if you will,... embroidery websites. When I first began embroidering in 1998, I downloaded nearly everything I saw that I liked. I learned pretty quickly that although they may be pretty,... some digitizers needed a bit more practice,... to be as kind as I can. Not meaning to say anything against those who aren't professional digitizers just saying do a test stitch out first so you don't run the risk of possibly ruining a project. I do speak from experience. Sometimes you can look at your embroidery design in your software program and see if there are any problems with it, that helps immensely. I use Embird and 3D Studio from HV.
So happy to see so many Machine Embroiderers on here!!

Just a warning for those just starting out with the ME, the free sites can be very good but you have to be careful as some of them are done by people that don't know or just starting out doing the digitizing and don't work as well as you hope they do. So unless it is a site that you trust and or person that you trust as you have used their stuff a lot, stitch it out first on scrap or a tea towel or something to try it out. This can actually go for some of the bought designs as well, though most of them wouldn't be around for long if their designs had a lot of issues. It is easier to stitch it out again than try and take it out.
