Once they are given away, thats it. There's just not enough room in my head for the past and everything I want to do next. No that I wouldn't recognize my own work should it cross my path again. My inheritors will have enough trouble dealing with all the unquilted tops I leave behind.

I keep photos on my computer.
Now my sister-in-law (is that SIL?) - she keeps a journal with pattern name, fabric designer, swatches and photos. I admire her organized skills, but I would rather be quilting.

I am in the process of making my very first quilt. In deciding what to make, I chatted with several lovely ladies who gave me pointers and suggestions. I don't know anyone who quilts and didn't know who to ask. Someone on the internet told me I should keep a quilt diary. At the time I thought, "Why!". But, now that I am almost finished and have run into a few problems, I think, one day, it's going to be fun to remember back and be able to tell whoever gets that particular quilt about all of the problems and solutions I had when I was making that quilt. I guess that's what they refer to as 'Quilt history'. I never quilt understood that phrase until I started making my own quilt. Quilting is sooooo much fun and I plan on keeping this as my life long activity. It's actually therapeutic. When I'm not having such a good day, I find that working on my quilt helps me relax. I just signed up on the Quilting Board a few days ago, found it be accident, and I just love it. Thanks to all who post............Babs

Welcome, Patty. Make sure to at least take pictures of your quilts but I liike your idea of keeping the "history" info too. Enjoy!

I journal my quilts. I take photos, write about them and them put them in a binder.

I WISH I would remember to photograph all my projects. Before we had a digital camera I have no pictures, now I have a few pictures and no excuse.
