Never thought I needed it, but my new Bernina 830 LE has dual feed. Love it! (Oh and the feet are normal size.)

Congratulations on the new machine! I got the QE 4.0 in January and love it and all it can do. It is my first machine w/ IDT, and it only makes me wonder why I waited so long. I have 5 other machines (4 Vikings and a Featherweight) which are great and have their uses, but my Pfaff does what they can't (not without the $139 walking foot!!).

It's a built-in feature that you can engage and disengage as needed. Pfaff's website has a short video explaining how it works. It's not on all their machines, but is on quite a few.

It means a built in walking foot. Phaff machines have them and I guess now some of the Janome ones have it. Instead of taking on and off the foot it's just built in and ready to use at all times. Hope this helps.

I have the built in walking foot on my BabyLock, just goes my another name.

NO. This is a feature that is built into the machines. It is not an attachment. You can buy a walking foot for most machines but IDT or whatever other makers call it, is built into the machine.
