When I was at JoAnn's yesterday, my cutter (I have followed her from one JoAnn's to another) was going to cut me some white on white and nicely said "You don't want this piece, it's crooked." So I went without buying it, but she was honest. I would have lost some of the fabric in the process of measuring. Good girl!!!!! Edie

On a recent trip to Joann's, the girl at the cutting table trimmed off the edge to straighten it and threw it away !!
I stood there with my mouth open . . finally said 'I've never seen that done before'

I have no complaints about our JoAnn's in Escanaba, MI. Helpful friendly staff. Sewers, Quilters and Crafters come from miles around. Also 2 LQS within 20 miles so we are fortunate. The Escanaba Walmart also has a large selection of fabric on the bolt, well large for this rural area anyway. Sounds like we are fortunate compared to some of you.

That is wonderful what a nice person!
I recently asked at our local JoAnn's why they are cutting the "Exact" Cut requested and the explaination was (This is after they cut off 1 1/2" to make the piece straight!! The JoAnn's is being Audited and they can not give and extra 1/2 or 1 inch cut. But it's okay to cut off an inaccurate cut and throw it away instead of giving a little to their customers.

My Joanns is really nice too. I usually try and find fabric that is near the end of the bolt, if I can. You get the first yard at regular price and 50% off end of the bolt. I do pretty good and the cutter is always excited too!

I have to chime in here. My Joann's is a joy to visit. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I have never posed a question that did not receive a prompt and courteous answer!
