So nice that he has a change for his walker. Great idea!

I made one when I had back surgery and was on a walker for several months-I used velcro to hold it on the front cross piece-it holds very securely. I used it to carry bottled water, cordless phone, books, etc.

Wish I had thought about it for my crutches, but now I am almost 100% ambulatory without them...

Very nice. I also found a Simplicity pattern at JoAnns during their 1.99 pattern sale.

I was concerned about the caddy being a hinderance which is why I ended up making them the way I did. The pockets are on the inside so the person can easily get what they need. By modifying the original pattern I reduced the amount of slack so it fits across the walker without impeding the user. I like the idea of making one of the pockets not quite as deep, for a cell phone as an example which would sink down to the botton of the caddy and make it harder to reach in a hurry. I will include this in my tutorial as an option, but I do believe I'll make mine with one smaller pocket.

Thank you so much for your comments and encouragement. I will get to work on the tutorial just as soon as I finish my block for candlequilter. There just aren't enough hours in the day are there?

Okay, DH has suggested that the walker caddy could be made of a heavier material; i.e. canvas, duck cloth, and used as a carpenter's belt. I promised him I would post his idea, but that is going to have to wait on my list of things to do. I'm just so happy he supports me in my craziness.

I would also like the pattern so I can make one for my brother-in-law. Thanks
