I've been watching the Blackhawks play the Bruins at Notre Dame Stadium in the Winter Classic. Unfortunately the Hawks lost. I'll be going into Sewing Room now to work on a BBQ2 quilt I'm making for a friend.

Not getting as much done as I’d hoped due to shoulder pain (gallbladder- coming out Friday unless surgeon decides my abnormal ecg is a problem). Did manage to decide on border fabric and got borders torn to width before having to lie down. If the tylenol kicks in I may be able to get them sewn on.
I love seeing what everyone has got going

    Christine, beautiful.

Rob, gall bladder stores bile for those hi fat foods we usually eat on New Year's Day. So to avoid attacks, use a very low fat diet to avoid some pain until it can be removed. (from the dietitian in me).

Quiltah Mama, wow you were productive!

Well, I can't say that I got very much done today but tomorrow is another day Hopefully I'll get more done on our next VQW (MLK weekend).

I got clue #7 on the BH mystery, and the center medallion for my Halo quilt - I've changed things up a bit as I wanted more interest in the center.

The best is all but the green and beige was from the scrap piles. I had a lot of misc chunks of border fabric left over from another quilt so was very happy to find a use for them.

I've tried everything and cannot get this picture to load right. Oh well. This is the baby quilt I worked on today. Have six blocks to sew together, two sashings and four borders. The binding and backing are going to be the dark blue. Considering I finished cutting this morning, I'm pleased with how much I got done even with interruptions. Thanks Raggiemom for setting up today's VQ.

When you have a picture that flips, save it as a png file and it will orient itself the way you want it.

No sewing yet, as I'm cleaning up, organizing, then I will select my project.
Glad to see so many of you are jumping in this new year with both feet!

    Christine, I love your 30's fabric top..............beautiful.

I pieced this simple baby quilt. I made one like it once before and I was smart enough to write down how I made it so I could make another one easily. It's all scraps too. I am trying to use some of my stash this year. I am newly retired and I was looking at my fabric and thinking....if I don't sew it someone else will get to so I better get busy.

I did the borders and took the Japanese Lanter to the LAQ The Japanese Lantern is a copy of a quilt I own that was made by my grandmother, her sisters and mother. Pattern was from Aunt Martha and Nancy Cabot dated 6/20/1933 according to Barbara Blackman in the Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns.
