Virtual Quilting Weekend--January 19-21, 2018
Welcome to VQW a day early! Since I'm quilting today I thought I would go ahead and start the thread in case anyone else is "celebrating" the cold by staying inside and working. I'm finishing a couple 2017 BOMs blocks and assembling the tops. I like to accumulate tops and then finish several at once Saturday is our guild Sew-In so I'll be quilting with lots of friends. I hope many of you are able to join this weekend.
Next VQW is February 16-18.

I'm in! But then I quilt most weekends.
I've been working on my "Catch me if you Can" quilt. I did some sewing and then decided I wanted to get all the pieces cut as I've got limited yardage of some colors and wanted to make sure I had enough for the stars and could substitute in the other areas.
I had planned on working on my Crazy Quilt (going on year 3 now) for the VQW this month, but I've got the fabric for CMIYC quilt spread all over and need to deal with that first. I also have a king size quilt on the LA. I had planned on using it to practice FMQ feathers, but now I'm intimidated by that thought - but if I don't practice, I will never get good. This quilt is for my bedroom, so it's not that big of a deal about being super nice. IE - no one ever comes to visit so no one will ever see it lol!

Will spend a few hours each day getting some stitching done, I hope. For sure I am big stitch quilting on my scrappy hexies, but also hope to get back at some machine stitching. Didn't take a new picture, as not much has changed on it since August....

This is what I'll be working on. I will be making four more of the corn and tomatoes block to be swapped out and I'll be finishing up the last bits of applique on the Sam blocks.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's work!

A few minutes at the machine before we head out to bowl... Hope I can get enough of this stabilized this weekend to bind it, and then go back in and do more machine quilting.
